What a man should supplicate on the afternoon of Arafah.
مَا يَدْعُو بِهِ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ

Hazrat Ali narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The most requested dua at the station of Arafat by me and all the prophets before me is this: There is no god but Allah, He is alone, He has no partners, to Him belongs the dominion, and to Him is all praise, and He is powerful over everything. O Allah! Put light in my heart, and put light in my ears, and put light in my eyes. O Allah! Expand my chest for me and make my affair easy for me. And I seek your refuge from the whispers of cowardice and the evil of matters becoming difficult, and from the trial of the grave. O Allah! I seek Your refuge from the evil of that which enters into the night and the evil of that which enters into the day, and the evil of that which the winds blow.
حضرت علی فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : میری اور مجھ سے پہلے تمام انبیاء کی عرفہ کے مقام پر زیادہ مانگی جانے والی دعا یہ ہے : اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، اسی کا ملک ہے اور اسی کے لیے تعریف ہے۔ اور وہ ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھنے والا ہے۔ اے اللہ ! تو میرے دل میں نور کو ڈال دے۔ اور میرے کانوں میں بھی نور کو ڈال دے، اور میری آنکھوں میں بھی نور ڈال دے، اے اللہ ! میرے لیے میرے سینہ کو کھول دے، اور میرے لیے میرے معاملہ کو آسان فرما، اور میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں سہنش کے وساوس سے، اور معاملہ کے بگڑنے سے اور قبر کے فتنہ سے، اے اللہ ! میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ہر اس چیز کے شر سے جو رات میں داخل ہوتی ہے اور ہر چیز کے شر سے جو دن میں داخل ہوتی ہے، اور اس چیز کے شر سے جس کو ہوائیں چلاتی ہیں۔
Hazrat Ali farmate hain keh Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne irshad farmaya : Meri aur mujh se pehle tamam ambiya ki Arafah ke muqam per zyada mangi jane wali dua yeh hai : Allah ke siwa koi mabood nahin woh akela hai us ka koi sharik nahin, usi ka mulk hai aur usi ke liye tareef hai. Aur woh har cheez per qudrat rakhne wala hai. Aye Allah ! Tu mere dil mein noor ko daal de. Aur mere kaanon mein bhi noor ko daal de, aur meri aankhon mein bhi noor daal de, Aye Allah ! Mere liye mere seena ko khol de, aur mere liye mere mamla ko asaan farma, aur main teri panaah mangta hun sahnsh ke wasawis se, aur mamla ke bigarne se aur qabar ke fitna se, Aye Allah ! Main teri panaah mangta hun har us cheez ke shar se jo raat mein dakhil hoti hai aur har cheez ke shar se jo din mein dakhil hoti hai, aur us cheez ke shar se jis ko hawaen chalati hain.
Hazrat Ibn Abi Haseen narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The most frequent supplication made by me on the Day of Arafat and the supplication of the Prophets before me is: 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone, He has no partners, to Him belongs dominion, and to Him is all praise, He gives life and He causes death, and He is over all things able.'"
حضرت ابن ابی حسین فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : عرفہ کے مقام پر کثرت سے کی جانے والی میری دعا اور مجھ سے پہلے کے انبیاء کی دعا یہ ہے : اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، اسی کا ملک ہے اور اسی کی تعریف ہے، وہی زندگی دیتا ہے اور وہی موت دیتا ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھنے والا ہے۔
Hazrat Ibn e Abi Hussain farmate hain keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Arafa ke muqam per kasrat se ki jane wali meri dua aur mujh se pehle ke anbiya ki dua yeh hai: Allah ke siwa koi mabood nahin woh akela hai us ka koi sharik nahin, usi ka mulk hai aur usi ki tareef hai, wahi zindagi deta hai aur wahi mout deta hai aur woh har cheez per qudrat rakhne wala hai.
Hazrat Abu Shaba said that I was in the presence of Hazrat Ibn Umar in the field of Arafat. And my knee was touching his knee, or my thigh was touching his thigh, so I did not hear him say anything more than these words: "There is no God but Allah, He is One and has no partner, His is the dominion and to Him is the praise and He is Powerful over everything." until he returned from the field of Arafat to Mina.
حضرت ابو شعبہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں میدان عرفات میں حضرت ابن عمر کے پہلو میں تھا۔ اور میرا گھٹنا ان کے گھٹنے سے چھو رہا تھا، یا میری ران ان کی ران سے چھو رہی تھی، پس میں نے نہیں سنا کہ انھوں نے ان کلمات پر کچھ زیادتی کی ہو ، اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، اسی کا ملک ہے اور اسی کے لیے تعریف ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ میدان عرفات سے منیٰ کی طرف لوٹ گئے۔
Hazrat Abu Shubah farmate hain ki main maidan Arafat mein Hazrat Ibn Umar ke pahloo mein tha aur mera ghutna unke ghutne se chuu raha tha ya meri raan unki raan se chuu rahi thi, pas maine nahi suna ki unhon ne in kalimat per kuchh zyadti ki ho, Allah ke siwa koi mabood nahi woh akela hai uska koi sharik nahi, usi ka mulk hai aur usi ke liye tarif hai aur woh har cheez per qadir hai. Yahan tak ki woh maidan Arafat se Mina ki taraf laut gaye.
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Bashr narrates that I asked Ibn Hunayfi: What are the best words that we should recite during our Hajj? So you (the Prophet) said: There is no God but Allah and Allah is the Greatest.
حضرت عبد الرحمن بن بشر فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابن حنفیہ سے پوچھا : سب سے بہتر کلمات کیا ہیں جو ہم اپنے حج کے دوران پڑھیں ؟ تو آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا : اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے۔
Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Bashar farmate hain keh maine Ibn Hanifa se poocha: Sab se behtar kalmat kya hain jo hum apne Hajj ke doran parhen? To aap ne irshad farmaya: Allah ke siwa koi mabood nahin aur Allah sab se bara hai.
Hazrat Dawood bin Abi Asim said that I performed the wuquf (standing) at Arafat with Hazrat Salim bin Abdullah. I kept observing what he was doing. So, he remained busy in dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and dua (supplication) until the people returned from Mina.
حضرت داؤد بن ابی عاصم فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت سالم بن عبداللہ کے ساتھ میدان عرفات میں وقوف کیا میں دیکھتا رہا کہ وہ کیا کرتے ہیں ؟ پس وہ ذکر اور دعا میں مشغول رہے یہاں تک کہ منیٰ واپس لوٹ گئے۔
Hazrat Daood bin Abi Asim farmate hain ki maine Hazrat Salim bin Abdullah ke sath maidan Arafaat mein waqoof kiya mein dekhta raha ki woh kya karte hain? Pas woh zikr aur dua mein mashgool rahe yahan tak ki Mina wapas laut gaye.
