Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "Spitting in the mosque is a sin, and its expiation is to cover it."
حضرت انس سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ مسجد میں تھوکنا گناہ ہے اور اس کا کفارہ یہ ہے کہ اسے دبا دیا جائے۔
Hazrat Anas se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya keh masjid mein thookna gunah hai aur is ka kaffara yeh hai keh ise daba diya jaye.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umama that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Spitting in the mosque is a sin, and wiping it off with dust is an act of goodness."
حضرت ابو امامہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ مسجد میں تھوکنا گناہ ہے اور اسے مٹی میں دبانا نیکی ہے۔

Hazrat Abdullah narrates that once Hazrat Abu Ubaidah came to the house, he had spat in the mosque, but he forgot to bury it in the soil, when he reached home and remembered, he took a lamp and went to bury it.
حضرت عبید اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ حضرت ابوعبیدہ گھر تشریف لائے، انھوں نے مسجد میں تھوکا تھا لیکن وہ اسے مٹی میں دبانا بھول گئے، جب گھر پہنچ کر یاد آیا تو چراغ لے کر اسے دبانے کے لیے گئے۔
Hazrat Ubaidullah kahte hain ke ek martaba Hazrat Abu Ubaidah ghar tashreef laaye, unhon ne masjid mein thooka tha lekin wo ise mitti mein dabana bhool gaye, jab ghar pahunch kar yaad aaya to chiragh lekar ise dabane ke liye gaye.
Hazrat Makhool narrates that once Hazrat Ibn Umar spat in the mosque but he forgot to bury it in the soil. When he reached home and remembered, he took a lamp and went to bury it. He searched for it, buried it, and then said that spitting in the mosque is a sin and its repentance is that it should be buried.
حضرت مکحول کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ حضرت ابن عمر نے مسجد میں تھوکا تھا لیکن وہ اسے مٹی میں دبانا بھول گئے، جب گھر پہنچ کر یاد آیا تو چراغ لے کر اسے دبانے کے لیے گئے۔ اسے تلاش کرکے دبایا اور پھر فرمایا کہ مسجد میں تھوکنا گناہ ہے اور اس کی توبہ یہ ہے اسے دبا دیا جائے۔
Hazrat Makhool kehte hain ki ek martaba Hazrat Ibn Umar ne masjid mein thooka tha lekin wo ise mitti mein dabana bhool gaye, jab ghar pohanch kar yaad aaya to chiraag le kar ise dabane ke liye gaye. Ise talaash karke dabaya aur phir farmaya ki masjid mein thookna gunaah hai aur is ki toba yeh hai ise daba diya jaye.
Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah be pleased with him) said that spitting in the mosque is a sin. This statement was mentioned to Hazrat Nakha'i (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said that its expiation is to bury the saliva.
حضرت مجاہد فرماتے ہیں کہ مسجد میں تھوکنا گناہ ہے۔ حضرت نخعی سے اس قول کا ذکر کیا گیا تو انھوں نے فرمایا کہ اس کا کفارہ تھوک کو دفن کرنا ہے۔
Hazrat Mujahid farmate hain ke masjid mein thookna gunah hai. Hazrat Nukhi se is qaul ka zikar kiya gaya to unhon ne farmaya ke iska kaffara thook ko dafan karna hai.
Hazrat Mujahid narrates that once Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah spat in the mosque at night, but he could not find the place, so he went home and brought a lamp, found it, and then buried it in the ground.
حضرت مجاہد فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابو عبیدہ بن جراح نے ایک مرتبہ رات کے وقت مسجد میں تھوکا، لیکن انھیں اس کی جگہ نظر نہ آئی، چنانچہ وہ گھر گئے اور ایک چراغ لا کر اسے ڈھونڈا اور پھر اسے مٹی میں دبادیا۔
Hazrat Mujahid farmate hain ki Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah ne ek martaba raat ke waqt masjid mein thooka, lekin unhen is ki jaga nazar na aai, chunancha wo ghar gaye aur ek chiragh la kar ise dhoonda aur phir ise mitti mein daba diya.
Hazrat Rakin's father narrates that I asked Hazrat Asma bin Hakam about everything, even about spitting in the mosque. So he said that its expiation is that it should be buried.
حضرت رکین کے والد کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت اسماء بن حکم سے ہرچیز حتی کے مسجد میں تھوکنے کے بارے میں بھی سوال کیا تو انھوں نے فرمایا کہ اس کا کفارہ یہ ہے کہ اسے دبا دیا جائے۔
Hazrat Rakeen ke walid kehte hain ke maine Hazrat Asma bin Hukm se har cheez hatta ke masjid mein thookne ke bare mein bhi sawal kiya to unhon ne farmaya ke iska kaffara yeh hai ke use daba diya jaye.
