Hazrat Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Kinanah narrates that a wealthy man sent me to Hazrat Ibn Abbas to ask him about the prayer for rain (Salat al-Istisqa). Hazrat Ibn Abbas said, "Why didn't he ask me himself?" Then he said, "The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came with humility, without any adornment, with complete submission and humbleness, walking slowly. He led the prayer in the same manner as he used to lead the Eid prayer, but he did not deliver a sermon.
حضرت اسحاق بن عبداللہ بن کنانہ فرماتے ہیں کہ مجھے ایک امیر نے حضرت ابن عباس کی طرف بھیجا کہ میں ان سے نماز استسقاء کے بارے میں سوال کروں۔ حضرت ابن عباس نے فرمایا کہ اس نے مجھ سے خود اس بارے میں سوال کیوں نہیں کیا۔ پھر انھوں نے فرمایا کہ نبی پاک (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تواضع کے ساتھ، بغیر زینت اختیار فرمائے، خشوع وتضرع کے ساتھ، آہستہ آہستہ چلتے ہوئے تشریف لائے اور آپ نے اس طرح نماز پڑھائی جس طرح آپ عید کی نماز پڑھایا کرتے تھے، لیکن اس میں خطبہ نہ دیا۔
Hazrat Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Kanana farmate hain ke mujhe aik ameer ne Hazrat Ibn Abbas ki taraf bheja ke main unse namaz istasqa ke bare mein sawal karoon. Hazrat Ibn Abbas ne farmaya ke usne mujhse khud is bare mein sawal kyun nahi kya. Phir unhon ne farmaya ke Nabi Pak (SAW) tawazu ke sath, baghair zeenat ikhtiyar farmaye, khushu o tadarru ke sath, aahista aahista chalte hue tashreef laye aur aap ne is tarah namaz parhayi jis tarah aap eid ki namaz parhaya karte the, lekin is mein khutba na diya.
Hazrat Haritha bin Mudrib Abdi said that we went out with Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari to pray for rain. He led us in two rak'ahs of prayer without the recitation of the adhan or iqamah.
حضرت حارثہ بن مضرب عبدی کہتے ہں ر کہ ہم حضرت ابو موسیٰ کے ساتھ بارش کی دعا کرنے نکلے، انھوں نے ہمیں بغیر اذان اور بغیر اقامت کے دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں۔
Hazrat Haritha bin Muzrib Abdi kehte hain k hum Hazrat Abu Musa k sath barish ki dua karne nikle, unhon ne humain baghair azan aur baghair iqamat k do rakatain parhaeen.
Hazrat Abu Ishaq said that we went out with Hazrat Abdullah bin Yazid Ansari to pray for rain. He led us in two rak'ahs of prayer, and Hazrat Zaid bin Arqam was also behind him.
حضرت ابو اسحاق کہتے ہیں کہ ہم حضرت عبداللہ بن یزید انصاری کے ساتھ بارش کی دعا کرنے نکلے، انھوں نے ہمیں دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں، حضرت زید بن ارقم بھی ان کے پیچھے تھے۔

Muhammad bin Hilaal narrated that I participated in the prayer for rain with Umar bin Abdul Aziz. He prayed before the sermon and then prayed for rain, reversing his shawl.
حضرت محمد بن ہلال کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت عمر بن عبدا لعزیز کے ساتھ بارش کی دعا میں شرکت کی، انھوں نے خطبے سے پہلے نماز پڑھی اور چادر کو پلٹ کر بارش کے لیے دعا مانگی۔
Hazrat Muhammad bin Hilal kehte hain ke maine Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz ke sath barish ki dua mein shirkat ki, unhon ne khutbe se pehle namaz parhi aur chadar ko palat kar barish ke liye dua maangi.
Narrated 'Abbad bin Tamim from his paternal uncle that he went with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for the prayer for rain. He (the Prophet) faced the Qibla, turned his back towards the people, reversed his cloak and offered a two rak'ah prayer in which he recited aloud.
حضرت عباد بن تمیم اپنے چچا سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں نبی پاک (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ بارش کی دعا کے لیے گیا۔ آپ نے قبلے کی طرف رخ کیا اور اپنی پشت کو لوگوں کی طرف کیا، اپنی چادر کو پلٹا اور دو رکعت نماز پڑھائی جس میں اونچی آواز سے قراءت فرمائی۔
Hazrat Abbad bin Tamim apne chacha se riwayat karte hain ke main Nabi Pak (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke sath barish ki dua ke liye gaya. Aap ne qibla ki taraf rukh kiya aur apni pusht ko logon ki taraf kiya, apni chadar ko palta aur do rakat namaz parhai jis mein unchi aawaz se qirat farmai.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Zaid narrates that I went with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to the Eidgah to pray for rain. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned to the Qibla for prayer, he turned his cloak over.
حضرت عبداللہ بن زید فرماتے ہیں کہ میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ بارش کی دعا کے لیے عید گاہ کی طرف گیا، جب آپ نے دعا کی قبلہ کی طرف رخ کیا اور اپنی چادر کو پلٹ لیا۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Zaid farmate hain ki mein Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke sath barish ki dua ke liye Eid Gah ki taraf gaya, jab aap ne dua ki qibla ki taraf rukh kiya aur apni chadar ko palat liya.
