كِتَابُ الْأَيْمَانِ وَالنُّذُورِ وَالْكَفَّارَاتِ
Who said there is no vow in disobedience to Allah, nor in what one does not possess
مَنْ قَالَ لَا نَذْرَ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ، وَلَا فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 12154
It has been narrated on the authority of Hazrat Thabit bin Ad-Dahhak Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A person does not have the right to look at something that he does not own."
حضرت ثابت بن الضحاک انصاری سے مروی ہے کہ حضور اقدس (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : آدمی پر اس چیز کی نذر نہیں ہے جس کا وہ مالک نہیں ہے۔
Hazrat Sabit bin al-Dahhak Ansari se marvi hai ki Huzoor Aqdas (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Aadmi par us cheez ki nazar nahi hai jis ka wo malik nahi hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ الْعَطَّارُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ : « لَيْسَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ »
