كِتَابُ الْحَجِّ
Concerning the man who performs Umrah in one month and it overlaps into another month
فِي الرَّجُلِ يَعْتَمِرُ فِي الشَّهْرِ فَتَدْخُلُ فِي غَيْرِهِ عُمْرَتُهُ

Hazrat Hafsah bint Sirin says that I and my brothers put on the Ihram of Umrah in Ramadan, then for some reason we were held back until the month of Shawwal came, we asked the people of Makkah about it? All the gentlemen told us that this is Hajj Tamattu'.
حضرت حفصہ بنت سیرین فرماتی ہیں کہ میں اور میرے بھائیوں نے رمضان میں عمرہ کا احرام باندھا پھر کسی وجہ سے محبوس ہوگئے یہاں تک کہ شوال کا مہینہ آگیا، ہم نے اھل مکہ سے اس کے متعلق دریافت کیا ؟ سب حضرات نے ہم سے فرمایا کہ یہ حج تمتع ہے۔
Hazrat Hafsa bint Sayreen farmati hain keh mein aur mere bhaiyon ne Ramzan mein Umrah ka ahram bandha phir kisi wajah se mahboos hogaye yahan tak keh Shawwal ka mahina agaya, hum ne ahle Makkah se iske mutalliq puchha ? Sab hazraat ne hum se farmaya keh yeh Hajj Tamattu hai.
أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، حَدَّثَتْنَا حَفْصَةُ بِنْتُ سِيرِينَ قَالَتْ : " خَرَجْتُ أَنَا وَإِخْوَتِي ، فَأَهْلَلْنَا فِي رَمَضَانَ بِالْعُمْرَةِ ، فَعَرَضَ لَنَا جَيْشٌ ، حَتَّى دَخَلَ شَوَّالُ فَسَأَلْنَا أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ ؟ فَكُلُّهُمْ قَالَ لِي : هِيَ مُتْعَةٌ "
