كِتَابُ الْبُيُوعِ وَالْأَقْضِيَةِ
Regarding hearing testimony, is it acceptable to rely on it?
فِي شَهَادَةِ السَّمْعِ أَلَهُ أَنْ يُسْمَعَ بِهَا
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 21774
Hazrat Hasan (R.A.) said that if a person hears something from a group of people, and then he goes to a judge (Qazi) and says that "they did not make me a witness, but I heard such and such thing."
حضرت حسن (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ اگر کوئی شخص کسی جماعت سے کوئی بات سن لے پھر وہ قاضی کے پاس آئے تو یوں کہے گا کہ انھوں نے مجھے گواہ تو نہیں بنایا لیکن میں نے ایسے ایسے سنا ہے۔
Hazrat Hassan (RA) farmate hain keh agar koi shakhs kisi jamaat se koi baat sun le phir wo qazi ke paas aaye to yun kahega keh unhon ne mujhe gawah to nahi banaya lekin maine aise aise suna hai.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ وَرْدَانَ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ : لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَمِعَ مِنْ قَوْمٍ شَيْئًا ، فَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِي الْقَاضِي فَيَقُولُ : « لَمْ يُشْهِدُونِي ، وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ كَذَا وَكَذَا »
