Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 24445
It is narrated on the authority of Iyas b. Salama that his father told him that a person ate in the presence of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) with his left hand whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Eat with your right hand. That person said: I do not find strength in it. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) remarked: May you not find strength in it. The fact was that he felt it a matter of pride (to eat with his right hand). The narrator says: He could not raise his right hand up to his mouth afterwards.
حضرت ایاس بن سلمہ سے روایت ہے کہ ان سے ان کے والد نے بیان کیا کہ ایک آدمی نے جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ہاں اپنے بائیں ہاتھ سے کھایا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا :” تم اپنے دائیں ہاتھ سے کھاؤ۔ “ اس آدمی نے کہا۔ مجھے اس کی طاقت نہیں ہے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” تجھے اس کی طاقت نہ ہو۔ “ اس آدمی کو دایاں ہاتھ سے صرف تکبر مانع تھا۔ راوی کہتے ہیں۔ پس یہ شخص پھر دایاں ہاتھ اپنے منہ تک نہیں اٹھا سکتا تھا۔
Hazrat Ayas bin Salma se riwayat hai ki unse unke wald ne bayan kiya ke ek aadmi ne Janaab Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke han apne bayen hath se khaya to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Tum apne dayen hath se khao." Iss aadmi ne kaha: "Mujhe iss ki taqat nahi hai." Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Tujhe iss ki taqat na ho." Iss aadmi ko dayan hath se sirf takabbur mani tha. Ravi kehte hain, phir yeh shakhs phir dayan hath apne munh tak nahi utha sakta tha.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَكَلَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِشِمَالِهِ ، فَقَالَ : « كُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ » قَالَ : لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ ، قَالَ : « لَا اسْتَطَعْتَ ، مَا مَنَعَهُ إِلَّا الْكِبْرُ » قَالَ : فَمَا رَفَعَهُمَا إِلَى فِيهِ
