Regarding a man who owes blood money and is from the people of cattle or sheep

‌الرَّجُلُ تَجِبُ عَلَيْهِ الدِّيَةُ وَهُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَقَرِ أَوِ الْغَنَمِ

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 26742

It is narrated from Hazrat Hassan that Umar and Uthman fixed the price of Zakat and handed it over to the one who paid it, so that if he wished, he could give camels and if he wished, he could give the price.

حضرت حسن سے مروی ہے کہ عمر اور عثمان نے دیت کی قیمت لگائی اور اس کو دینے والے کی طرف سپرد کردیا، اگر چاہے تو اونٹ دے اور چاہے تو قیمت دیدے۔

Hazrat Hassan se marvi hai keh Umar aur Usman ne dait ki qeemat lagai aur usko dene wale ki taraf supurd kardiya, agar chahe to unt de aur chahe to qeemat dede.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ : أَنَّ عُمَرَ ، وَعُثْمَانَ : « قَوَّمَا الدِّيَةَ وَجَعَلَا ذَلِكَ إِلَى الْمُعْطِي ، إِنْ شَاءَ فَالْإِبِلُ ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ فَالْقِيمَةُ »
