كِتَابُ الدُّعَاءِ
A man fears the ruler; what should he pray?
الرَّجُلُ يَخَافُ السُّلْطَانَ مَا يَدْعُو

Hazrat Amir narrates: "I was sitting with Ziyad bin Abee Sufyan when a man was dragged in. We had no doubt that he was going to be killed. Amir said, 'I saw his lips slightly moving. I didn't know what he was saying.' Amir continued, 'Then Ziyad set him free.' Then, from among the people, a man approached him and said, 'Indeed, you were brought here for investigation, and we had no doubt you were going to be killed. Then, I saw your lips moving due to something, and we don't know what it was.' Then Ziyad set you free!' The man replied, 'I was reciting this prayer: 'O Allah! The Protector of Ibrahim, and the Protector of Ishaq, and the Protector of Yaqoob, and the Lord of Jibra'eel, and Meeka'eel, and Israafil, and the Revealer of the Torah, the Injeel, the Zaboor, and the Grand Quran, protect me from the evil of Ziyad.'
حضرت عامر فرماتے ہیں کہ میں زیاد بن ابی سفیان کے پاس بیٹھا تھا کہ ایک آدمی کو گھسیٹتے ہوئے لایا گیا، ہمیں اس کے قتل ہونے میں کوئی شک نہیں تھا، عامر فرماتے ہیں : میں نے اس کو دیکھا اس کے ہونٹ ہلکی سی حرکت کر رہے ہیں میں نہیں جانتا تھا کہ وہ کیا کہہ رہا ہے، عامر کہتے ہیں پس زیاد نے اس کو آزاد کردیا، پس لوگوں میں ایک آدمی اس کی طرف متوجہ ہوا اور کہنے لگا : تحقیق تجھے لایا گیا تھا اور ہمیں تیرے قتل ہونے میں کوئی شک نہیں تھا پس میں نے تجھے دیکھا کہ کسی چیز کی وجہ سے تیرے ہونٹ حرکت کر رہے تھے ہم نہیں جانتے کہ وہ کیا ہے ؟ آدمی نے کہا پھر زیاد نے تجھے آزاد کردیا ! وہ شخص کہنے لگا ! میں نے یہ دعا پڑھی تھی : اے اللہ ! ابراہیم کے پالنے والے اور اسحاق کے پالنے والے اور یعقوب کے پالنے والے، اور جبرائیل اور میکائیل اور اسرافیل کے رب، اور توراۃ ، انجیل ، زبور اور قرآن عظما کے نازل کرنے والے ، مجھ سے زیاد کے شر کو دور فرما۔
Hazrat Aamir farmate hain keh mein Zyad bin Abi Sufyan ke paas betha tha keh aik aadmi ko ghaseet-te hue laya gaya, humein uske qatal hone mein koi shak nahin tha, Aamir farmate hain : maine usko dekha uske hont halki si harkat kar rahe hain mein nahin janta tha keh woh kya keh raha hai, Aamir kehte hain pas Zyad ne usko aazaad kardiya, pas logon mein aik aadmi uski taraf mutawajjah hua aur kehne laga : Tahqeeq tujhe laya gaya tha aur humein tere qatal hone mein koi shak nahin tha pas maine tujhe dekha keh kisi cheez ki wajah se tere hont harkat kar rahe the hum nahin jante keh woh kya hai ? Aadmi ne kaha phir Zyad ne tujhe aazaad kardiya ! Woh shakhs kehne laga ! Maine yeh dua parhi thi : Aye Allah ! Ibrahim ke palne wale aur Ishaq ke palne wale aur Yaqoob ke palne wale, aur Jibraeel aur Mikaeel aur Israfeel ke Rab, aur Toraat , Injeel , Zaboor aur Quran Azeema ke nazil karne wale , mujhse Zyad ke shar ko door farma.
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ فَأُتِيَ بِرَجُلٍ يُحْمَلُ ، مَا نَشُكُّ فِي قَتْلِهِ ، قَالَ : فَرَأَيْتُهُ حَرَّكَ شَفَتَيْهِ بِشَيْءٍ مَا نَدْرِي مَا هُوَ ، فَخَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ ، فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيْهِ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ ، فَقَالَ : لَقَدْ جِيءَ بِكَ وَمَا نَشُكُّ فِي قَتْلِكَ ، فَرَأَيْتُكَ حَرَّكْتَ شَفَتَيْكَ بِشَيْءٍ مَا نَدْرِي مَا هُوَ ، فَخَلَّى سَبِيلَكَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : « اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَرَبَّ إِسْحَاقَ ، وَرَبَّ يَعْقُوبَ ، وَرَبَّ جِبْرِيلَ ، وَمِيكَائِيلَ ، وَإِسْرَافِيلَ ، وَمُنَزِّلَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ وَالزَّبُورِ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْعَظِيمِ ، ادْرَأْ عَنِّي شَرَّ زِيَادٍ »
