What a man should supplicate and be commanded to say when wearing new clothes.
مَا يَدْعُو بِهِ الرَّجُلُ وَيُؤْمَرُ بِهِ إِذَا لَبِسَ الثَّوْبَ الْجَدِيدَ

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 29755
A man of the tribe of Mazin narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw Hazrat Umar wearing washed clothes, so he said: Are your clothes new? Hazrat Umar said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), they are washed. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Wear new clothes, and live your life gratefully, and die as a martyr, may Allah grant you coolness of the eyes in this world and the hereafter.
قبیلہ مزینہ کے ایک آدمی نقل کرتے ہیں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے حضرت عمر کو دھلا ہوا کپڑا پہنے ہوئے دیکھا، تو ارشاد فرمایا : کیا تمہارے یہ کپڑے نئے ہیں ؟ حضرت عمر نے فرمایا : اے اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) دھلے ہوئے ہیں۔ پس رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم نیا کپڑا پہنو، اور شکر کرتے ہوئے زندگی گزارو، اور شہید ہو کر وفات پاؤ، اللہ تمہیں دنیا اور آخرت میں آنکھ کی ٹھنڈک نصیب کرے۔
Qabeela Mazeena ke aik aadmi naqal karte hain Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Hazrat Umar ko dhula hua kapda pehne huye dekha, to irshad farmaya : kya tumhare ye kapde naye hain? Hazrat Umar ne farmaya : aye Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) dhule huye hain. Pas Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya : tum naya kapda pehno, aur shukar karte huye zindagi guzaar, aur shaheed hokar wafat pao, Allah tumhen duniya aur aakhirat mein aankh ki thandak naseeb kare.
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْهَبِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عُمَرَ ثَوْبًا غَسِيلًا ، فَقَالَ : « جَدِيدٌ ثَوْبُكَ هَذَا ؟»، قَالَ : غَسِيلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ : « الْبَسْ جَدِيدًا ، وَعِشْ حَمِيدًا ، وَتَوَفَّ شَهِيدًا يُعْطِكَ اللَّهُ قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ »
