Two men both claim a child born from a woman in a single period of purity, who inherits from him
الرَّجُلَانِ يَقَعَانِ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ فِي طُهْرٍ وَاحِدٍ وَيَدَّعِيَانِ جَمِيعًا وَلَدًا، مَنْ يَرِثُهُ

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 31467
It is popularly said that Hazrat Ali (R.A.) gave a verdict about two men who had intercourse with a woman in one period of purity from which she gave birth to a child, that the child should be divided between the two, such that the child would be an heir to both of them and they would both be heirs to the child, and of the two, the one who lived longer would receive the child.
شعبی فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) دو آدمیوں کے بارے میں فیصلہ فرمایا جنہوں نے ایک عورت سے ایک طہر میں جماع کیا تھا جس سے اس نے بچہ جنا ، کہ اس بچے کو ان دونوں کے درمیان تقسیم کردیا جائے، اس طرح کہ وہ بچہ ان دونوں کا وارث ہوگا اور وہ دونوں اس بچے کے وارث ہوں گے، اور ان دونوں میں سے اس کو ملے گا جس کی عمر زیادہ لمبی ہوگی۔
Shobai farmate hain keh Hazrat Ali (RA) do aadmiyon ke bare mein faisla farmaya jinhon ne aik aurat se aik tahar mein jima kia tha jis se us ne bachcha jana, keh us bachche ko in donon ke darmiyan taqseem kar diya jaye, is tarah keh woh bachcha in donon ka waris hoga aur woh donon is bachche ke waris honge, aur in donon mein se us ko milega jis ki umar zyada lambi hogi.
حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : « قَضَى عَلِيٌّ فِي رَجُلَيْنِ وَطِئَا امْرَأَةً فِي طُهْرٍ وَاحِدٍ ، فَوَلَدَتْ فَقَضَى أَنْ جَعَلَهُ بَيْنَهُمَا ، يَرِثُهُمَا وَيَرِثَانِهِ ، وَهُوَ لِآخِرِهِمَا حَيَاةً »
