Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 32009
Hazrat Sulayman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates, "I heard Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) saying, 'Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) both sent marriage proposals to a woman. Her family accepted Hazrat Mughirah's (may Allah be pleased with him) proposal and rejected Hazrat Umar's (may Allah be pleased with him), or the narrator said, they declined the proposal of Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).' Upon this, the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Indeed, they left or rejected the best of this Ummah.'"
حضرت سلیمان (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت حسن (رض) کو یوں فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رض) اور حضرت مغیرہ بن شعبہ (رض) نے ایک عورت کی طرف پیغام نکاح بھیجا تو اس کے اہل خانہ نے حضرت مغیرہ (رض) سے اس عورت کا نکاح کردیا اور حضرت عمر (رض) کو چھوڑ دیا یا راوی نے یوں کہا : کہ حضرت عمر (رض) کے پیغام کو رد کردیا۔ تو اس پر اللہ کے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : البتہ تحقیق انھوں نے اس امت کے بہترین شخص کو چھوڑا یا فرمایا : رد کیا۔
Hazrat Sulaiman (RA) farmate hain keh maine Hazrat Hassan (RA) ko yun farmate huye suna keh Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (RA) aur Hazrat Mughirah bin Shubah (RA) ne aik aurat ki taraf paigham nikah bheja to uske ahl khana ne Hazrat Mughirah (RA) se us aurat ka nikah kardiya aur Hazrat Umar (RA) ko chhod diya ya ravi ne yun kaha : keh Hazrat Umar (RA) ke paigham ko rad kardiya. To is par Allah ke Nabi (SAW) ne irshad farmaya : albatta tahqeeq unhon ne is ummat ke behtarin shakhs ko chhoda ya farmaya : rad kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ ، يَقُولُ : خَطَبَ عُمَرُ ، وَالْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ امْرَأَةً ، فَأَنْكَحُوا الْمُغِيرَةَ وَتَرَكُوا عُمَرَ ، وَقَالَ : رَدُّوا عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ : « لَقَدْ تَرَكُوا أَوْ رَدُّوا خَيْرَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ »
