What the Imam advises the governors when he sends them.
مَا يُوصِي بِهِ الْإِمَامُ الْوُلَاةَ إِذَا بَعَثَهُمْ

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 32922
Hazrat Abu Usman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter to Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Separate yourselves from camels and ride horses. And take off your shoes and wear slippers. Leave the shalwar and tie the izar. And leave the cloaks, adopt the dress of the tribe of Ma'd. And save yourselves from the ways of the non-Arabs, for the worst of ways are those of the non-Arabs."
حضرت ابو عثمان (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر (رض) نے حضرت ابو موسیٰ اشعری (رض) کو خط لکھا اور فرمایا : تم لوگ اونٹوں سے خود کو جدا کرلو اور گھوڑوں پر سوار ہو ۔ اور تم موزے اتار دو اور چپل پہنو۔ شلوار چھوڑ دو اور ازار باندھو۔ اور سلوٹوں کو چھوڑ دو ، تم قبیلہ معد کا لباس لازم پکڑ لو۔ اور خود کو عجمیوں کے طور طریقوں سے بچاؤ اس لیے کہ بدترین طور طریقے عجمیوں کے ہیں۔
Hazrat Abu Usman (RA) farmate hain ki Hazrat Umar (RA) ne Hazrat Abu Musa Ashari (RA) ko khat likha aur farmaya: Tum log oonton se khud ko juda karlo aur ghoron par sawar ho. Aur tum moze utar do aur chappal pehno. Shalwar chhor do aur izaar bandho. Aur salwton ko chhor do, tum qabeela Mad ka libas laazim pakar lo. Aur khud ko ajmiyon ke tor tarikon se bachao is liye ki badtareen tor tarike ajmiyon ke hain.
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : « كَتَبَ عُمَرُ إِلَى أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ » أَنِ اقْطَعُوا الرَّكْبَ ، وَانْزُوَا عَلَى الْخَيْلِ نَزْوًا ، وَأَلْقَوَا الْخِفَافَ ، وَخُذُوا النِّعَالَ ، وَأَلْقَوْا السَّرَاوِيلَاتِ ، وَاتَّزَرُوا وَارْمُوا الْأَغْرَاضَ ، وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِلِبْسِ الْمُعَدِّيَةِ ، وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَهَدْيِ الْعَجَمِ ، فَإِنَّ شَرَّ الْهَدْيِ هَدْيُ الْعَجَمِ "
