Who said they are entitled to nothing if they arrived after the battle.
مَنْ قَالَ: لَيْسَ لَهُ شَيْءٌ إِذَا قَدِمَ بَعْدَ الْوَقْعَةِ

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 33231
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Zuhaak (R.A) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent out a small detachment, then after they left, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) received some spoils of war. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) distributed the spoils of war among the people but did not give them anything. When that detachment returned, they said that the Prophet of Allah had distributed the spoils but did not give us a share, so this verse was revealed concerning them: { وَمَا کَانَ لِنَبِیٍّ أَنْ یَغُلَّ }
حضرت ضحاک (رض) سے مروی ہے کہ نبی اکرم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کچھ ابتدائی دستے روانہ فرمائے، پھر ان کے جانے کے بعد حضور اقدس (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو کچھ مال غنیمت ہاتھ آیا، آنحضرت (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے لوگوں کے درمیان غنیمت کا مال تقسیم فرمایا اور ان کو کچھ نہ دیا، جب وہ دستے واپس آئے تو کہنے لگے کہ اللہ کے نبی نے غنیمت کو تقسیم فرما دیا ہے مگر ہمیں حصہ نہ دیا، تو ان کے متعلق یہ آیت نازل ہوئی { وَمَا کَانَ لِنَبِیٍّ أَنْ یَغُلَّ }
Hazrat Dahak (RA) se marvi hai keh Nabi Akram (SAW) ne kuch ibtidai daste rawana farmaye, phir un ke jane ke baad Huzoor Aqdas (SAW) ko kuch maal e ghanimat hath aaya, Aap (SAW) ne logon ke darmiyaan ghanimat ka maal taqseem farmaya aur un ko kuch na diya, jab woh daste wapas aaye to kehne lage keh Allah ke Nabi ne ghanimat ko taqseem farma diya hai magar humein hissa na diya, to un ke mutalliq yeh aayat nazil hui { wa ma kana li nabiyyin an yaghull }
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ : ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ نُبَيْطٍ ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ قَالَ : بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ طَلَائِعَ فَغَنِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ غَنِيمَةً فَقَسَمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ، وَلَمْ يَقْسِمْ لِلطَّلَائِعِ شَيْئًا ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَتِ الطَّلَائِعُ قَالُوا : " قَسَمَ الْفَيْءَ وَلَمْ يَقْسِمْ لَنَا ، فَنَزَلَتْ ﴿ وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَنْ يَغُلَّ ﴾ [ آل عمران : ١٦١ ] "
