The Words of Ibn al-Zubayr
كَلَامُ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ﵁

It is narrated from Hazrat Aun bin Abdullah that he said: During the time of Fitna Ibn Zubair (RA), a man was sitting in a garden in Egypt, worried and sad, scraping the ground. During this time, he lifted his head and found a man with a shovel standing in front of him. The man with the shovel said, "What is the matter that I find you worried and sad?" As if he considered it insignificant, he said, "It's nothing." On this, the man with the shovel said, "If this is for the sake of this world, then this world is a temporary provision from which both the righteous and the wicked eat. And the Hereafter is a time of truth in which the Almighty King will judge. He will decide between right and wrong." Even to the extent that he mentioned that its joints are like its flesh. Whoever among the young errs in any matter, he will err from the truth. When this man heard these words, he said, "My worry is in the internal matters of the Muslims." The narrator says that on this, the man said, "Soon Allah Almighty will save you out of mercy for the Muslims, and you ask. Who is the person who asked from Allah and was not given? He prayed to Allah, and it was not accepted? He relied on Allah, and Allah was not sufficient for him? And he trusted in Allah, and Allah did not save him?" The narrator says, "So I started saying, 'O Allah! Keep me safe, and keep others safe from me.'" It is said that then the Fitna ended, and I was not harmed by it.
حضرت عون بن عبداللہ سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ فتنہ ابن زبیر (رض) کے وقت میں ایک آدمی مصر میں ایک باغ میں فکر مند، غم گین بیٹھا ہوا زمین پر کرید رہا تھا کہ اس دوران اس نے اپنا سر اوپر اٹھایا تو ایک بیلچے والے آدمی کو اپنے سامنے کھڑے پایا۔ بیلچے والے نے کہا کیا بات ہے کہ میں تمہیں فکر مند اور غم گین پاتا ہوں ؟ گویا کہ اس نے اس کو ہلکا سمجھتے ہوئے کہا : کوئی بات نہیں۔ اس پر بیلچے والے نے کہا : اگر تو یہ دنیا کی خاطر ہے تو دنیا ایک حاضر سامان ہے جس سے نیک اور بد کھاتا ہے۔ اور آخرت ایک سچا وقت ہے جس میں قدرت والا بادشاہ فیصلہ کرے گا۔ حق اور باطل کے درمیان فیصلہ کرے گا۔ یہاں تک کہ اس نے ذکر کیا کہ اس کے گوشت کی طرح مفاصل ہیں۔ جوان میں سے کسی شے میں غلطی کرے گا وہ حق سے غلطی کر بیٹھے گا۔ جب اس آدمی نے یہ باتیں سنیں تو کہا میری فکر مندی مسلمانوں کے اندرونی مسئلہ میں ہے۔ راوی کہتے ہیں اس پر اس آدمی نے کہا : عنقریب اللہ تعالیٰ تجھے مسلمانوں پر شفقت کی وجہ سے نجات دے گا اور تم سوال کرو۔ وہ کون شخص ہے جس نے اللہ سے مانگا ہو پھر اس کو عطا نہ کیا گیا ہو ؟ اس نے اللہ سے دعا کی ہو اور قبول نہ ہوئی ہو ؟ خدا پر توکل کیا ہو اور خدا اس کو کافی نہ ہوا ہو ؟ اور خدا پر بھروسہ کیا ہو اور خدا نے اس کو نجات نہ دی ہو ؟ راوی کہتے ہیں۔ چنانچہ میں نے کہنا شروع کیا۔ اے اللہ ! تو مجھے بھی سلامت رکھنا اور مجھ سے بھی سلامتی رکھنا۔ کہتے ہیں پس وہ فتنہ ختم ہوگیا اور مجھے اس سے کوئی نقصان نہیں ہوا۔
Hazrat Aun bin Abdullah se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke fitna Ibn Zubair (RA) ke waqt mein ek aadmi Misr mein ek bagh mein fikar mand, ghamgeen baitha hua zameen par kreed raha tha ke is dauran usne apna sar upar uthaya to ek belche wale aadmi ko apne samne khare paya. Belche wale ne kaha kya baat hai ke mein tumhein fikar mand aur ghamgeen pata hun? Goya ke usne usko halka samajhte hue kaha: koi baat nahin. Is par belche wale ne kaha: agar tu yeh duniya ki khatir hai to duniya ek haazir saman hai jisse nek aur bad khata hai. Aur aakhirat ek sacha waqt hai jismein qudrat wala badshah faisla karega. Haq aur baatil ke darmiyaan faisla karega. Yahan tak ke usne zikar kiya ke uske gosht ki tarah mafasil hain. Jawan mein se kisi cheez mein ghalti karega woh haq se ghalti kar baithega. Jab is aadmi ne yeh baatein sunin to kaha meri fikar mandi musalmanon ke andaruni masle mein hai. Ravi kehte hain is par us aadmi ne kaha: Anqareeb Allah Ta'ala tujhe musalmanon par shafqat ki wajah se nijaat dega aur tum sawal karo. Woh kaun shakhs hai jisne Allah se manga ho phir usko ata na kiya gaya ho? Usne Allah se dua ki ho aur qabool na hui ho? Khuda par توکل kiya ho aur Khuda usko kaafi na hua ho? Aur Khuda par bharosa kiya ho aur Khuda ne usko nijaat na di ho? Ravi kehte hain. Chunancha mein ne kehna shuru kiya. Aye Allah! Tu mujhe bhi salamat rakhna aur mujhse bhi salamati rakhna. Kehte hain pas woh fitna khatam hogaya aur mujhe us se koi nuqsaan nahin hua.
أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، عَنْ مَعْنٍ ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " بَيْنَا رَجُلٌ فِي بُسْتَانٍ بِمِصْرٍ فِي فِتْنَةِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ جَالِسٌ مَهْمُومٌ حَزِينٌ يَنْكُثُ فِي الْأَرْضِ ، إِذْ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَإِذَا صَاحِبُ مِسْحَاةٍ قَائِمٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ صَاحِبُ الْمِسْحَاةِ : مَا لِي أَرَاكَ مَهْمُومًا حَزِينًا ؟ فَكَأَنَّهُ ازْدَرَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : لَا شَيْءَ ، فَقَالَ صَاحِبُ الْمِسْحَاةِ : إِنْ يَكُنْ لِلدُّنْيَا فَالدُّنْيَا عَرَضٌ حَاضِرٌ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ ، وَإِنَّ الْآخِرَةَ أَجَلٌ صَادِقٌ ⦗ص:١٤٤⦘ يَحْكُمُ فِيهِ مَلِكٌ قَادِرٌ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ الْحَقِّ وَالْبَاطِلِ ، حَتَّى ذَكَرَ أَنَّ لَهَا مَفَاصِلَ مِثْلَ مَفَاصِلِ اللَّحْمِ ، مَنْ أَخْطَأَ مِنْهَا شَيْئًا أَخْطَأَ الْحَقَّ ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ بِذَلِكَ قَالَ : « اهْتِمَامِي بِمَا فِيهِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ »، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَيُنْجِيكَ بِشَفَقَتِكَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَسَلْ ، مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي سَأَلَ اللَّهَ فَلَمْ يُعْطِهِ ؟ وَدَعَا اللَّهَ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ ؟ وَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَكْفِهِ ؟ وَوَثِقَ بِهِ ، فَلَمْ يُنْجِهِ ؟ قَالَ : " فَطَفِقْتُ ، أَقُولُ : « اللَّهُمَّ سَلِّمْنِي وَسَلِّمْ مِنِّي »، قَالَ : « فَتَجَلَّتْ وَلَمْ أُصِبْ مِنْهَا بِشَيْءٍ »
