كِتَابُ الزُّهْدِ
The Words of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz
كَلَامُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 35090
It is narrated on the authority of Ubaid bin Abd al-Malik. He said that this man told me that he saw Umar bin Abdulaziz standing at Arafat and you (may Allah be pleased with you) were supplicating. And you (may Allah be pleased with you) were pointing with your finger like this. O Allah! Increase the goodness of the one who does good with the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him) and turn the one who does evil with the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him) to repentance. Then you (may Allah be pleased with you) turned your finger. O Allah! And encompass them with Your mercy from behind them.
حضرت عبید بن عبد الملک سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ مجھے اس آدمی نے بتایا جس نے حضرت عمر بن عبدالعزیز کو مقام عرفہ میں وقوف کرتے دیکھا تھا اور آپ (رض) دعا کر رہے تھے۔ اور آپ اپنی انگلی سے یوں اشارہ کررہے تھے۔ اے اللہ ! اُمت محمد 5! کے ساتھ اچھائی کرنے والے کی اچھائی کو اور زیادہ کر اور امت محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ برائی کرنے والے کو توبہ کی طرف پھیر دے پھر آپ (رض) نے اپنی انگلی کو پھیرا۔ اے اللہ ! اور تو ان کے پیچھے سے اپنی رحمت کا احاطہ فرما لے۔
Hazrat Ubaid bin Abd al-Malik se riwayat hai. Woh kahte hain ke mujhe us aadmi ne bataya jis ne Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz ko maqam Arafah mein wuquf karte dekha tha aur aap dua kar rahe the. Aur aap apni ungli se yun ishara kar rahe the. Aye Allah! Ummat Muhammad ke sath achchai karne wale ki achchai ko aur ziada kar aur Ummat Muhammad ke sath burai karne wale ko toba ki taraf phir de phir aap ne apni ungli ko phela. Aye Allah! Aur to un ke peechhe se apni rehmat ka ihata farma le.
حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ رَأَى عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَاقِفًا بِعَرَفَةَ وَهُوَ يَدْعُو وَهُوَ يَقُولُ بِأُصْبُعِهِ هَكَذَا - يَعْنِي يُشِيرُ بِهَا : اللَّهُمَّ زِدْ مُحْسِنَ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ إِحْسَانًا ، وَرَاجِعْ بِمُسِيئِهِمْ إِلَى التَّوْبَةِ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : هَكَذَا ، ثُمَّ يُدِيرُ إِصْبَعَهُ : « اللَّهُمَّ وَحُطَّ مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ »
