كِتَابُ الزُّهْدِ
The Words of al-Hasan al-Basri
كَلَامُ الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 35206
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: It has reached me that (it is written) in a Book of Allah, "O son of Adam! I have created two things for you, but they are not for you. [They are:] Making a will concerning your property in a well-known manner, because property is inherited by other than you, and the Muslims praying for you, while you are in a place where you do not get tired because of any evil, nor do you increase in any good."
حضرت حسن سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ مجھے یہ بات پہنچی کہ اللہ کی (کسی) کتاب میں ہے آدم کے بیٹے ! میں نے دو چیزیں تیرے لیے کردی ہیں لیکن وہ تیرے لیے نہیں ہیں۔ تیرے مال میں معروف طریقہ سے وصیت۔ جبکہ ملکیت غیر کو حاصل ہوتی ہے اور مسلمانوں کا تیرے لیے دعا کرنا۔ جبکہ تو ایسی جگہ ہوتا ہے نہ تو تو کسی برائی کی وجہ سے تھکتا ہے اور نہ کسی اچھائی میں بڑھتا ہے۔
Hazrat Hasan se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke mujhe yeh baat pahunchi ke Allah ki (kisi) kitaab mein hai Adam ke bete! Mein ne do cheezein tere liye kar di hain lekin woh tere liye nahin hain. Tere maal mein maaroof tareeqe se wasiyat. Jabke milkiyat ghair ko hasil hoti hai aur Musalmanon ka tere liye dua karna. Jabke tu aisi jaga hota hai na tu to kisi burai ki wajah se thakta hai aur na kisi achai mein badhta hai.
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ : " بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ : ابْنَ آدَمَ ثِنْتَانِ جَعَلْتُهُمَا لَكَ وَلَمْ يَكُونَا لَكَ : وَصِيَّةٌ فِي مَالِكَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ ، وَقَدْ صَارَ الْمُلْكُ لِغَيْرِكَ ، وَدَعْوَةُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ لَكَ وَأَنْتَ فِي مَنْزِلٍ لَا تَسْتَعْتِبُ فِيهِ سَيِّئًا وَلَا تَزِيدُ فِي حَسَنٍ "
