What They Said About Crying Out of Fear of Allah
مَا قَالُوا فِي الْبُكَاءِ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ

It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Hassan that a person from among the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by another who was reciting Ayatul Kursi and weeping and was reciting the same again and again. So they said, "Did you people not hear the command of Allah {And recite the Qur'an in a measured tone}? This is that recitation (Tarteel).
حضرت حسن سے مروی ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے صحابہ میں سے ایک شخص دوسرے کے پاس سے گزرا جو آیت کرسی پڑھ رہا تھا اور رو رہا تھا اور اسی کو بار بار پڑھ رہا تھا تو انھوں نے فرمایا کہ کیا تم لوگوں نے اللہ کا ارشاد { وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِیلاً } نہیں سنا یہی ہے وہ ترتیل۔
Hazrat Hassan se marvi hai keh aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke sahaba mein se aik shakhs doosre ke paas se guzra jo ayat ul kursi parh raha tha aur ro raha tha aur isi ko baar baar parh raha tha to unhon ne farmaya keh kya tum logon ne Allah ka irshad { Warattil Qur'ana tartila } nahi suna yahi hai wo tarteel.
يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سَلَامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ ، قَالَ : " مَرَّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يَقْرَأُ آيَةً وَيَبْكِي وَيُرَدِّدُهَا ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا إِلَى قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى : ﴿ وَرَتِّلْ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا ﴾ [ المزمل : ٤ ] قَالَ : هَذَا التَّرْتِيلُ "
