What Was Said About the Death of the Prophet ﷺ
مَا جَاءَ فِي وَفَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

It is narrated from Hazrat Ata that he said, "We have come to know that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away, people would enter upon you (in the room) and offer prayer upon you and then leave, and then others would enter in the same way." The narrator said, "I asked Hazrat Ata, 'Did they offer prayer and supplicate?' He said, 'They offered prayer and sought forgiveness.'
حضرت عطائ سے روایت ہے فرماتے ہیں ہمیں یہ بات پہنچی ہے کہ جب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی وفات ہوئی تو لوگ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر (حجرہ میں) داخل ہوتے۔ آپ پر نماز پڑھتے اور نکل جاتے پھر اسی طرح اور لوگ اندر چلے جاتے۔ راوی کہتے ہیں : میں نے حضرت عطاء سے پوچھا۔ وہ نماز پڑھتے تھے اور دعا مانگتے تھے ؟ عطاء نے کہا۔ نماز پڑھتے تھے اور استغفار کرتے تھے۔

جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ مَاتَ ، قَالَ : " أَقْبَلَ النَّاسُ يَدْخُلُونَ فَيُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُونَ وَيَدْخُلُ آخَرُونَ كَذَلِكَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ : يُصَلُّونَ وَيَدْعُونَ ؟ قَالَ : يُصَلُّونَ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ "
