كِتَابُ صَلَاةِ التَّطَوُّعِ وَالْإِمَامَةِ وَأَبْوَابٌ مُتَفَرِّقَةٌ
Regarding His saying: 'Establish the prayer at the decline of the sun' [Quran 17:78]
فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: ﴿أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ﴾ [

Hazrat Aswad narrates that I was sitting with Hazrat Abdullah in his house. Meanwhile, the sun set. So Hazrat Abdullah recited this verse: {Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night} Then he said, "By Allah, besides Whom there is no deity, it (the mentioned time) refers to the time when the fasting person breaks his fast, and the time for this prayer begins."
حضرت اسود کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت عبداللہ کے ساتھ ان کے گھر بیٹھا تھا۔ اتنے میں سورج غروب ہوگیا تو حضرت عبداللہ نے یہ آیت پڑھی { أَقِمِ الصَّلاَۃ لِدُلُوکِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَی غَسَقِ اللَّیْلِ } پھر فرمایا اس ذات کی قسم جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ اس سے مراد وہ وقت ہے جس میں روزہ دار روزہ افطار کرتا ہے اور اس نماز کا وقت ہوجاتا ہے۔
Hazrat Aswad kehte hain ke maine Hazrat Abdullah ke sath unke ghar baitha tha itne mein suraj ghuroob hogaya to Hazrat Abdullah ne yeh ayat padhi { Aqeem us Salaata Lidolooki sh Shams ilaa Gasaqil Layl } phir farmaya is zaat ki qasam jis ke siwa koi mabood nahi is se muraad wo waqt hai jis mein rozedar roza iftar karta hai aur is namaz ka waqt hojata hai
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، فَوَجَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : ﴿ أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَى غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ ﴾ [ الإسراء : ٧٨ ] ثُمَّ قَالَ : « هَذَا وَاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ ، حِينَ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ ، وَبَلَغَ وَقْتُ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ »
