Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2906
Al-Harith Al-A'war narrated that I passed by the Masjid when the people were absorbed in storytelling. So, I went to Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and said, 'O Commander of the believers, do you not see the people are becoming engrossed in story-telling?' He said, 'they have been consumed with it?' I said, ‘yes.' He said, 'as for me, I heard the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) saying, ‘indeed there comes a Fitnah’ So I said, ‘what is the way out from it, O Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)?’ He said, ‘Allah's book. In it is news for what happened before you, and information about what comes after you, and judgement for what happens between you. It is the Criterion (between right and wrong) without jest. Whoever among the oppressive abandons it, Allah crushes him, and whoever seeks guidance from other than it, then Allah leaves him to stray. It is the firm rope of Allah, it is the wise remembrance, it is the straight path, and it is the one that the desires cannot distort, nor can the tongues twist it, nor can the scholars ever have enough of it, and it shall not become dull from reciting it much, and the amazement of it does not diminish. It is the one that when the Jinns hear it, they did not hesitate to say about it, 'verily, we have heard a wonderful Recitation (this Qur'an)! 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein.' Whoever speaks according to it then he has said the truth, and whoever acts according to it he is rewarded, and whoever judges by it he has judged justly, and whoever invites to it then he guides to the straight path.’ Take this O A'war.’ Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Gharib. We do not know of it except through the narration of Hamzah Az-Zayyat, and in its chain there is an unknown person. There is also criticism about the narrations of A1-Harith.

حارث اعور کہتے ہیں کہ مسجد میں گیا تو کیا دیکھتا ہوں کہ لوگ گپ شپ اور قصہ کہانیوں میں مشغول ہیں، میں علی رضی الله عنہ کے پاس پہنچا۔ میں نے کہا: امیر المؤمنین! کیا آپ دیکھ نہیں رہے ہیں کہ لوگ لایعنی باتوں میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں؟ ۔ انہوں نے کہا: کیا واقعی وہ ایسا کر رہے ہیں؟ میں نے کہا: ہاں، انہوں نے کہا: مگر میں نے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے: ”عنقریب کوئی فتنہ برپا ہو گا“، میں نے کہا: اس فتنہ سے بچنے کی صورت کیا ہو گی؟ اللہ کے رسول! آپ نے فرمایا: ”کتاب اللہ، اس میں تم سے پہلے کے لوگوں اور قوموں کی خبریں ہیں اور بعد کے لوگوں کی بھی خبریں ہیں، اور تمہارے درمیان کے امور و معاملات کا حکم و فیصلہ بھی اس میں موجود ہے، اور وہ دو ٹوک فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے، ہنسی مذاق کی چیز نہیں ہے۔ جس نے اسے سرکشی سے چھوڑ دیا اللہ اسے توڑ دے گا اور جو اسے چھوڑ کر کہیں اور ہدایت تلاش کرے گا اللہ اسے گمراہ کر دے گا۔ وہ ( قرآن ) اللہ کی مضبوط رسی ہے یہ وہ حکمت بھرا ذکر ہے، وہ سیدھا راستہ ہے، وہ ہے جس کی وجہ سے خواہشیں ادھر ادھر نہیں بھٹک پاتی ہیں، جس کی وجہ سے زبانیں نہیں لڑکھڑاتیں، اور علماء کو ( خواہ کتنا ہی اسے پڑھیں ) آسودگی نہیں ہوتی، اس کے باربار پڑھنے اور تکرار سے بھی وہ پرانا ( اور بے مزہ ) نہیں ہوتا۔ اور اس کی انوکھی ( و قیمتی ) باتیں ختم نہیں ہوتیں، اور وہ قرآن وہ ہے جسے سن کر جن خاموش نہ رہ سکے بلکہ پکار اٹھے: ہم نے ایک عجیب ( انوکھا ) قرآن سنا ہے جو بھلائی کا راستہ دکھاتا ہے، تو ہم اس پر ایمان لے آئے، جو اس کے مطابق بولے گا اس کے مطابق عمل کرے گا اسے اجر و ثواب دیا جائے گا۔ اور جس نے اس کے مطابق فیصلہ کیا اس نے انصاف کیا اور جس نے اس کی طرف بلایا اس نے اس نے سیدھے راستے کی ہدایت دی۔ اعور! ان اچھی باتوں کا خیال رکھو“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث غریب ہے، اس حدیث کو ہم صرف اسی سند سے جانتے ہیں، ۲- اس کی سند مجہول ہے، ۳- حارث کے بارے میں کلام کیا گیا ہے۔
Haris A'war kehte hain ke masjid mein gaya to kya dekhta hoon ke log gup shup aur qissa kahaniyon mein mashghul hain, main Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke pass pahuncha. Main ne kaha: Ameerul Momineen! Kya aap dekh nahin rahe hain ke log la-yane baaton mein pare hue hain? - Unhon ne kaha: Kya waqi'i woh aisa kar rahe hain? Main ne kaha: Haan, unhon ne kaha: Magar main ne to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko farmate hue suna hai: "Anqareeb koi fitna barpa hoga", main ne kaha: Is fitna se bachne ki surat kya hogi? Allah ke Rasool! Aap ne farmaya: "Kitabullah, is mein tum se pehle ke logoon aur qaumon ki khabarain hain aur baad ke logoon ki bhi khabarain hain, aur tumhare darmiyan ke amoor o muamalats ka hukum o faisla bhi is mein maujood hai, aur woh do tok faisla karne wala hai, hansi mazaq ki cheez nahin hai. Jis ne isse sarkashi se chhod diya Allah isse tod dega aur jo isse chhod kar kahin aur hidayat talash karega Allah isse gumrah kar dega. Woh (Quran) Allah ki mazboot rasi hai yeh woh hikmat bhara zikr hai, woh seedha rasta hai, woh hai jis ki wajah se khwaishyan idhar udhar nahin bhatak pati hain, jis ki wajah se zabanain nahin ladkharati hain, aur ulema ko (khawah kitna hi isse padhein) aasoodi nahin hoti, iske bar bar padhne aur takrar se bhi woh purana (aur be maza) nahin hota. Aur is ki anokhi (o qimeti) baatain khatam nahin hoti, aur woh Quran woh hai jisse sun kar jin khamosh nahin rahe sake balke pukar uthe: Ham ne aik ajib (anokha) Quran suna hai jo bhalai ka rasta dikhaata hai, to hum is par iman le aaye, jo is ke mutabiq bolega is ke mutabiq amal karega isse ajr o thawab diya jayega. Aur jis ne is ke mutabiq faisla kiya us ne insaf kiya aur jis ne is ki taraf bulaya us ne us ne seedhe raste ki hidayat di. A'war! In achhi baaton ka khayal rakho". Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: 1- Yeh hadees gharib hai, is hadees ko hum sirf isi sanad se jaante hain, 2- Is ki sanad majhool hai, 3- Haris ke bare mein kalam kiya gaya hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ، قَال: سَمِعْتُ حَمْزَةَ الزَّيَّاتَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُخْتَارِ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَخِي الْحَارِثِ الْأَعْوَرِ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: مَرَرْتُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ يَخُوضُونَ فِي الْأَحَادِيثِ، فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَلِيٍّ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أَلَا تَرَى أَنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ خَاضُوا فِي الْأَحَادِيثِ، قَالَ: وَقَدْ فَعَلُوهَا ؟، قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: أَمَا إِنِّي قَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: أَلَا إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ فِتْنَةٌ، فَقُلْتُ: مَا الْمَخْرَجُ مِنْهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ: كِتَابُ اللَّهِ فِيهِ نَبَأُ مَا كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ، وَخَبَرُ مَا بَعْدَكُمْ، وَحُكْمُ مَا بَيْنَكُمْ، وَهُوَ الْفَصْلُ لَيْسَ بِالْهَزْلِ، مَنْ تَرَكَهُ مِنْ جَبَّارٍ قَصَمَهُ اللَّهُ، وَمَنِ ابْتَغَى الْهُدَى فِي غَيْرِهِ أَضَلَّهُ اللَّهُ، وَهُوَ حَبْلُ اللَّهِ الْمَتِينُ، وَهُوَ الذِّكْرُ الْحَكِيمُ، وَهُوَ الصِّرَاطُ الْمُسْتَقِيمُ، هُوَ الَّذِي لَا تَزِيغُ بِهِ الْأَهْوَاءُ وَلَا تَلْتَبِسُ بِهِ الْأَلْسِنَةُ، وَلَا يَشْبَعُ مِنْهُ الْعُلَمَاءُ وَلَا يَخْلَقُ عَلَى كَثْرَةِ الرَّدِّ، وَلَا تَنْقَضِي عَجَائِبُهُ، هُوَ الَّذِي لَمْ تَنْتَهِ الْجِنُّ إِذْ سَمِعَتْهُ حَتَّى قَالُوا: إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْءَانًا عَجَبًا 1 يَهْدِي إِلَى الرُّشْدِ سورة الجن آية 1 ـ 2، مَنْ قَالَ بِهِ صَدَقَ، وَمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهِ أُجِرَ، وَمَنْ حَكَمَ بِهِ عَدَلَ، وَمَنْ دَعَا إِلَيْهِ هَدَى إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ خُذْهَا إِلَيْكَ يَا أَعْوَرُ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ مَجْهُولٌ وَفِي الْحَارِثِ مَقَالٌ.
