The Hadith of Nu'man ibn Bashir from the Prophet (peace be upon him)

حَدِيثُ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18447

Narrated by Numan bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The best of people are those of my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then there will come a people who will swear oaths before taking them and will take oaths to support their testimonies."

حضرت نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا بہترین لوگ میرے زمانے کے ہیں پھر ان کے بعد والے پھر ان کے بعد والے پھر ان کے بعد والے اس کے بعد ایک ایسی قوم آئے گی جن کی قسم گواہی پر اور گواہی قسم پر سبقت لے جائے گی۔

Hazrat Numaan bin Bashir RA se marvi hai keh Rasul Allah SAW ne irshad farmaya behtarin log mere zamane ke hain phir un ke baad wale phir un ke baad wale phir un ke baad wale is ke baad ek aisi qaum ayegi jin ki qasam gawahi par aur gawahi qasam par subqat le jayegi.

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ يجيءُ قَوْمٌ تَسْبِقُ شَهَادَتُهُمْ أَيْمَانَهُمْ، وَتَسْبِقُ أَيْمَانُهُمْ شَهَادَتَهُمْ" .

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18448

Narrated by Numan (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The example of the believers is like that of a body; if a person's head is aching, the whole body feels the pain."


Grade: Sahih

حضرت نعمان رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا مؤمن کی مثال جسم کی سی ہے کہ اگر انسان کے سر کو تکلیف ہوتی ہے تو سارے جسم کو تکلیف کا احساس ہوتا ہے۔

Hazrat Noman (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya momin ki misaal jism ki si hai ki agar insan ke sar ko takleef hoti hai to sare jism ko takleef ka ehsas hota hai.

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَاصِمِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَّامٌ أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ الْقَارِي ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ أَوْ خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَالرَّجُلِ الْوَاحِدِ، إِذَا وَجِعَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ، تَدَاعَى لَهُ سَائِرُ جَسَدِهِ" .

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18449

It is narrated by Numan bin Bashir that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) once said on the pulpit: "He who is not grateful for a little will not be grateful for much. He who does not thank the people does not thank Allah. Mentioning the favors and blessings of Allah is gratitude, leaving it is disbelief, unity is mercy and separation is punishment."

حضرت نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ایک مرتبہ منبر پر فرمایا جو شخص تھوڑے پر شکر نہیں کرتا وہ زیادہ پر بھی شکر نہیں کرتا جو شخص لوگوں کا شکریہ ادا نہیں کرتا وہ اللہ کا شکر بھی ادا نہیں کرتا اللہ کے انعامات و احسانات کو بیان کرنا شکر ہے چھوڑنا کفر ہے، اجتماعیت رحمت ہے اور افتراق عذاب ہے۔

Hazrat Noman bin Bashir Razi Allahu Anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek martaba mimbar par farmaya jo shakhs thore par shukar nahi karta woh zyada par bhi shukar nahi karta jo shakhs logon ka shukriya ada nahi karta woh Allah ka shukar bhi ada nahi karta Allah ke inaamat o ehsaanat ko bayan karna shukar hai chorna kufr hai, ijtimaiyat rahmat hai aur iftiraq azab hai.

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو وَكِيعٍ الْجَرَّاحُ بْنُ مَلِيحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ: " مَنْ لَمْ يَشْكُرْ الْقَلِيلَ، لَمْ يَشْكُرْ الْكَثِيرَ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَشْكُرْ النَّاسَ لَمْ يَشْكُرْ اللَّهَ، التَّحَدُّثُ بِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ شُكْرٌ، وَتَرْكُهَا كُفْرٌ، وَالْجَمَاعَةُ رَحْمَةٌ، وَالْفُرْقَةُ عَذَابٌ" .

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18450

It is narrated by Numan bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) once said on the pulpit, "He who is not grateful for a little, will not be grateful for much. He who does not thank the people, does not thank Allah. To mention the favors and blessings of Allah is gratitude, to leave it is ungratefulness. Unity is mercy and division is torment."

حضرت نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ایک مرتبہ منبر پر فرمایا جو شخص تھوڑے پر شکر نہیں کرتا وہ زیادہ پر بھی شکر نہیں کرتا جو شخص لوگوں کا شکریہ ادا نہیں کرتا وہ اللہ کا شکر بھی ادا نہیں کرتا اللہ کے انعامات و احسانات کو بیان کرنا شکر ہے چھوڑنا کفر ہے، اجتماعیت رحمت ہے اور افتراق عذاب ہے۔

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ ربه مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو وَكِيعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَال: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْأَعْوَادِ، أَوْ عَلَى هَذَا الْمِنْبَرِ: " مَنْ لَمْ يَشْكُرْ الْقَلِيلَ، لَمْ يَشْكُرْ الْكَثِيرَ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَشْكُرْ النَّاسَ، لَمْ يَشْكُرْ اللَّهَ، وَالتَّحَدُّثُ بِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ شُكْرٌ، وَتَرْكُهَا كُفْرٌ، وَالْجَمَاعَةُ رَحْمَةٌ، وَالْفُرْقَةُ عَذَابٌ" . قَالَ: فَقَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ: عَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّوَادِ الْأَعْظَمِ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: مَا السَّوَادُ الْأَعْظَمُ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَة: هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي سُورَةِ النُّورِ: فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيْكُمْ مَا حُمِّلْتُمْ سورة النور آية 54.

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18451

It is narrated on the authority of Numan bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Be just among your children."


Grade: Hasan

حضرت نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا اپنے بچوں کے درمیان عدل کیا کرو۔

Hazrat Noman bin Bashir Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai ke Rasool Allah Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya apne bachchon ke darmiyan adl kiya karo.

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاجِبُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُهَلَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " قَارِبُوا بَيْنَ أَبْنَائِكُمْ" . يَعْنِي: سَوُّوا بَيْنَهُمْ.

It is narrated on the authority of Numan bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Be just among your children."

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ حَاجِبِ بْنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ الْمُهَلَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اعْدِلُوا بَيْنَ أَبْنَائِكُمْ، اعْدِلُوا بَيْنَ أَبْنَائِكُمْ، اعْدِلُوا بَيْنَ أَبْنَائِكُمْ" .
