It is narrated by Muhajir bin Qunfudh (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was performing ablution. He did not respond to my greeting until he had finished. When he finished, he responded to my greeting and said, "Nothing prevented me from responding to you, but I did not consider it appropriate to utter the name of Allah while in a state of impurity."

حضرت مہاجر بن قنفذ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو سلام کیا نبی ﷺ اس وقت وضو فرما رہے تھے اس لئے جواب نہیں دیا جب وضو فرماچکے تو میرے سلام کا جواب دیتے ہوئے فرمایا کہ تمہیں جواب دینے سے کوئی چیز مانع نہ تھی لیکن میں نے مناسب نہیں سمجھا کہ بےوضو ہونے کی حالت میں اللہ کا نام لوں۔
Hazrat Muhajir bin Qunfuz (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko salam kiya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) us waqt wuzu farma rahe the is liye jawab nahi diya jab wuzu farma chuke to mere salam ka jawab dete huye farmaya ki tumhen jawab dene se koi cheez mane na thi lekin maine munasib nahi samjha ki bewazu hone ki halat mein Allah ka naam lun.
It is narrated on the authority of Muhajir bin Qunfudh (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was performing ablution at that time, so he did not respond. When he finished the ablution, he responded to my greeting and said, "Nothing prevented me from responding to you, but I did not consider it appropriate to utter the name of Allah while I was in a state of impurity."

It is narrated on the authority of Muhajir bin Qunfudh (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was urinating or had finished urinating, I greeted him but he did not respond until he performed ablution and then he replied to me.

حضرت مہاجر بن قنفذ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ پیشاب کررہے تھے یا کرچکے تھے میں نے انہیں سلام کیا لیکن انہوں نے جواب نہیں دیا یہاں تک کہ وضو کرلیا اور پھر مجھے جواب دیا۔
