It is narrated on the authority of Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us to fast on the days of Ayyam al-Beedh, that is, the 13th, 14th, and 15th of the lunar month, which are equal in reward to fasting the entire month.

حضرت قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ہمیں ایام بیض یعنی چاند کی تیرہ چودہ اور پندرہ تاریخ کے روزے جو کے ثواب میں پورے مہینے کے برابر ہیں رکھنے کا حکم دیا ہے۔
Hazrat Qatadah raziallahu anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hamen ayyam-e-beez yani chand ki terah chaudah aur pandrah tareekh ke roze jo ke sawab mein poore mahine ke barabar hain rakhne ka hukum diya hai.
Abu Ala bin Umair said that I was with Qatada bin Milhan when his time of death approached. At that moment, a man passed from the last corner of the house. I saw him in front of Qatada, may Allah be pleased with him. Whenever I saw Qatada, may Allah be pleased with him, it seemed as if his face was glowing. In fact, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had wiped his blessed hand over his face.

ابوعلاء بن عمیر کہتے ہیں کہ میں اس وقت حضرت قتادہ بن ملحان کے پاس موجود تھا جب ان کے انتقال کا وقت قریب آیا اس لمحے گھر کے آخری کونے سے ایک آدمی گزرا میں نے اسے حضرت قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے سامنے دیکھا میں جب بھی قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو دیکھتا تھا تو یوں محسوس ہوتا تھا کہ ان کے چہرے پر روغن ملا ہوا ہو دراصل نبی ﷺ نے ان کے چہرے پر اپنا دست مبارک پھیرا تھا۔
