It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Usayd bin Zurayr that once I was in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and I said: “O Messenger of Allah! I have composed some verses in praise of my Lord and in your praise.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Let me hear, O Usayd, what you have said in praise of your Lord.” I began to recite the verses. In the meantime, a man with a ruddy complexion came and asked permission to enter the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stopped me in the middle. The man talked for a while and then left. I resumed reciting the verses. After a while, the same man came back and asked permission to enter. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stopped me again. The man did this three times. I asked: “O Messenger of Allah! Who is this man for whose sake you silence me?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “This is Umar ibn al-Khattab. He is a man who does not like wrong things.”

سیدنا اسود بن سریع سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میں نے اپنے پروردگار کی حمدومدح اور آپ کی تعریف میں کچھ اشعار کہے ہیں نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ذراسناؤ تم نے اپنے رب کی تعریف میں کیا کہا ہے میں نے اشعار سنانا شروع کئے اسی اثناء میں ایک گندمی رنگ کا آدمی آیا اور نبی ﷺ سے اجازت طلب کی نبی ﷺ نے مجھے درمیان میں روک دیا وہ آدمی تھوڑی دیر گفتگو کرنے کے بعد چلا گیا میں پھر اشعار سنانے لگا تھوڑی دیر بعد وہی آدمی دوبارہ آیا اور اندر آنے کی اجازت چاہی نبی ﷺ نے مجھے پھر درمیان میں روک دیا اس شخص نے تین مرتبہ مرتبہ ایساہی کیا میں نے پوچھا کہ یا رسول اللہ! یہ کون ہے جس کی خاطر آپ مجھے خاموش کر وادیتے ہیں نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: یہ عمر بن خطاب ہیں یہ ایسے آدمی ہیں جو غلط باتوں کو پسند نہیں کرتے۔
Sayyidna Aswad bin Saree se marvi hai ki ek martaba mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur arz kiya: Ya Rasul Allah! mein ne apne Parvardigaar ki hamd-o-madh aur aap ki tareef mein kuch ashaar kahe hain Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Zarasunao tum ne apne Rab ki tareef mein kya kaha hai mein ne ashaar sunana shuru kiye isi asna mein ek gandumi rang ka aadmi aaya aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se ijazat talab ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe darmiyaan mein rok diya woh aadmi thodi der guftagu karne ke baad chala gaya mein phir ashaar sunane laga thodi der baad wahi aadmi dobara aaya aur andar aane ki ijazat chahi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe phir darmiyaan mein rok diya us shakhs ne teen martaba martaba aisa hi kiya mein ne pucha ki Ya Rasul Allah! yeh kaun hai jis ki khatir aap mujhe khamosh kar wa dete hain Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: yeh Umar bin Khattab hain yeh aise aadmi hain jo galat baaton ko pasand nahin karte.
It is narrated by Aswad bin Saree that once I was in the service of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and submitted: O Messenger of Allah! I have composed some verses in praise of my Lord and in your praise. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: Your Lord likes praise.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Aswad bin Saree that once a prisoner was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the prisoner said, "O Allah, I repent to You, I do not repent to Muhammad." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "He has recognized the right of the one who deserves it."

سیدنا اسود بن سریع سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں ایک قیدی کو لایا گیا وہ قیدی کہنے لگا کہ اے اللہ میں آپ کی بارگاہ میں توبہ کرتا ہوں محمد سے توبہ نہیں کرتا نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ اس نے حقدارکاحق پہچان لیا۔
Sayyidna Aswad bin Saree se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein ek qaidiko laya gaya woh qaidee kehne laga ki aye Allah mein aap ki bargah mein tauba karta hun Muhammad se tauba nahi karta Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki usne haqdardaq haq pehchan liya.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Aswad bin Saree that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) dispatched a detachment at the time of the Battle of Hunayn. They fought the polytheists, and the scope of the fighting expanded to the point that the children of the polytheists were also killed. When they returned, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked them, "What compelled you to kill the children?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah! They were the children of the polytheists." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Are not the best among you the children of polytheists?" By the Being in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, every soul that is born is born upon the Fitrah (natural state of believing in one God). It is only until they are spoken to that they begin to utter the words of their protectors.

سیدنا اسود بن سریع سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے غزوہ حنین کے موقع پرا یک دستہ روانہ فرمایا: انہوں نے مشرکین سے قتال کیا جس کا دائرہ وسیع ہوتے ہوتے ان کی اولاد کے قتل تک جاپہنچا جب وہ لوگ واپس آئے تو نبی ﷺ نے ان سے پوچھا کہ تمہیں بچوں کو قتل کرنے پر کس چیز نے مجبور کیا وہ کہنے لگے کہ یا رسول اللہ! وہ مشرکین کے بچے تھے نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: کیا تم میں سے جو بہترین لوگ ہیں وہ مشرکین کی اولاد نہیں ہیں اس ذات کی قسم جس کے دست قدرت میں محمد کی جان ہے جو روح بھی دنیا میں جنم لیتی ہے وہ فطرت پر پیدا ہو تی ہے یہاں تک کہ اس کی زبان اپنا مافی الضمیر ادا کرنے لگے۔
Sayyiduna Aswad bin Saree se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Ghazwa Hunain ke mauke par aik dasta rawana farmaya: unhon ne mushrikeen se qitaal kya jis ka daira wasee hote hote un ki aulad ke qatl tak ja pahuncha jab wo log wapas aaye to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un se pucha ke tumhein bachchon ko qatl karne par kis cheez ne majboor kya wo kahne lage ke ya Rasulullah wo mushrikeen ke bache thay Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: kya tum mein se jo behtarin log hain wo mushrikeen ki aulad nahin hain is zaat ki qasam jis ke dast qudrat mein Muhammad ki jaan hai jo rooh bhi duniya mein janam leti hai wo fitrat par paida hoti hai yahan tak ke us ki zuban apna mafi al-zameer ada karne lage.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Aswad bin Saree that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent out a detachment at the time of the Battle of Hunayn. When they returned, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, asked them what had compelled them to kill the children. They said, "O Messenger of Allah! By the Being in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, every soul that is born in the world is born upon the Fitrah (natural state of believing in One God). Then his parents make him a Jew, a Christian, or a Magian.

Yeh kaun hai jiss ki khatir aap mujhe khamosh karwa dete hain? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Yeh Umar bin Khattab hain, yeh aise aadmi hain jo galat baaton ko pasand nahin karte.
