Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 10915
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying, "The most virtuous prayer after the obligatory prayers is the prayer offered in the middle of the night, and the most virtuous fast after the fasts of Ramadan is the fast in the month of Allah, which you call Muharram."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ فرض نمازوں کے بعد سب سے زیادہ افضل نماز رات کے درمیانی حصے میں پڑھی جانے والی نماز ہے اور ماہ رمضان کے روزوں کے بعد سب سے زیادہ افضل روزہ اللہ کے اس مہینے کا ہے جسے تم محرم کہتے ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai ki farz namaazon ke bad sab se zyada afzal namaz raat ke darmiyani hisse mein parha jane wali namaz hai aur mah ramazan ke rozon ke bad sab se zyada afzal roza Allah ke us mahine ka hai jise tum muharram kehte ho.
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ , عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " أَفْضَلُ صَلَاةٍ بَعْدَ الْمَفْرُوضَةِ , صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ , وَأَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ , شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ الْمُحَرَّمَ" .
