Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11190
It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "If there are three people, then when the time for prayer comes, one of them should lead the prayer. The most deserving of them to lead the prayer is the one who has most memorized the Qur'an."

حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا جہاں تین آدمی ہوں تو نماز کے وقت ایک امام بن جائے اور ان میں امامت کا زیادہ حقدار وہ ہے جو ان میں زیادہ قرآن جاننے والا ہو
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri RA se marvi hai keh Nabi SAW ne farmaya jahan teen aadmi hon to namaz ke waqt ek imam ban jaye aur un mein imamat ka zyada haqdaar wo hai jo un mein zyada quran janne wala ho.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، وَشُعْبَةُ ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِذَا كَانُوا ثَلَاثَةً فَلْيَؤُمَّهُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ، وَأَحَقُّهُمْ بِالْإِمَامَةِ أَقْرَؤُهُمْ".
