Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11191
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that we set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for the Battle of Hunayn on the seventeenth or eighteenth of Ramadan. Some of us observed fasts while others did not. However, neither did the one who fasted find fault with the one who did not, nor did the one who did not find fault with the one who fasted. (The meaning is that whoever had the strength to fast, he would fast, and whoever did not have the strength, he would leave it and make it up later).

حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ہم لوگ نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ غزوہ حنین کے لئے سترہ یا اٹھارہ رمضان کو روانہ ہوئے، تو ہم میں سے کچھ لوگوں نے روزہ رکھ لیا اور کچھ نے نہ رکھا، لیکن روزہ رکھنے والا چھوڑنے والے پر یا چھوڑنے والا روزہ رکھنے والے پر کوئی عیب نہیں لگاتا تھا، (مطلب یہ ہے کہ جس آدمی میں روزہ رکھنے کی ہمت ہوتی وہ رکھ لیتا اور جس میں ہمت نہ ہوتی وہ چھوڑ دیتا، بعد میں قضاء کرلیتا)
Hazrat Abusaid Khudri Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki hum log Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath ghazwa hunain ke liye satrah ya atharah Ramzan ko rawana hue, to hum mein se kuch logon ne roza rakh liya aur kuch ne na rakha, lekin roza rakhne wala chhorne wale par ya chhorne wala roza rakhne wale par koi aib nahin lagata tha.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى حُنَيْنٍ لِسَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ، أَوْ ثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ مَضَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ،" فَصَامَ صَائِمُونَ، وَأَفْطَرَ آخَرُونَ، وَلَمْ يَعِبْ هَؤُلَاءِ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ، وَلَا هَؤُلَاءِ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ".
