Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11197
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man entered the Prophet’s Mosque on Friday while the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was delivering the sermon on the pulpit. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called him and ordered him to offer two rak'ahs of prayer. Then, one after another, two more men came, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave them the same order. Then he encouraged people to give charity, so people started giving charity. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took two clothes from that charity and gave them to the man who had come earlier, and said, "O people! Give charity.” Upon this, that man put one cloth back into the charity. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reprimanded him for his action, and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was displeased with this action of his. So, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Look at this person, he came to the mosque in a disheveled state. I called him, and I hoped that you would give him something in charity and clothe him with clean clothes, but you did not. Then I explicitly asked you to give charity, so you gave charity, and I gave him two clothes from it. Then, when I again encouraged you to give charity, he put one of those clothes back in it. Take your cloth," the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him reprimandingly.

حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک آدمی جمعہ کے دن مسجد نبوی میں داخل ہوا اس وقت نبی ﷺ منبر پر خطبہ ارشاد فرما رہے تھے، نبی ﷺ نے اسے بلا کردو رکعتیں پڑھنے کا حکم دیا، پھر یکے بعد دیگرے دو آدمی اور آئے اور نبی ﷺ نے انہیں بھی یہی حکم دیا، پھر لوگوں کو صدقہ دینے کی ترغیب دی، لوگ صدقات دینے لگے، پھر نبی ﷺ نے ان صدقات میں سے دو کپڑے لے کر اس آنے والے کو دے دئیے اور فرمایا کہ لوگو! صدقہ دو، اس پر اس آدمی نے ایک کپڑا صدقات میں ڈال دیا، اس کی اس حرکت پر نبی ﷺ نے اسے ڈانٹا اور آپ ﷺ کو اس کی یہ حرکت ناگوار گذری، چنانچہ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ اس شخص کو دیکھو، یہ مسجد میں پراگندہ حالت میں آیا تھا، میں نے اسے بلایا، مجھے امید تھی کہ تم اسے کچھ دے کر اس پر صدقہ کرو گے اور اسے صاف کپڑے پہناؤ دوگے، لیکن تم نے ایسا نہ کیا، پھر میں نے تم سے صراحۃً صدقہ کرنے کے لئے کہا، تم نے صدقہ کیا اور میں نے اس میں سے دو کپڑے اسے دے دئیے، پھر دوبارہ صدقہ کی ترغیب دی تو اس نے ان میں سے ایک کپڑا اس میں ڈال دیا، یہ اپنا کپڑالے لو، نبی ﷺ نے اسے ڈانٹ کر فرمایا
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri RA se marvi hai ki aik aadmi Jumma ke din Masjid Nabvi mein dakhil hua us waqt Nabi SAWW mimbar par khutba irshad farma rahe the, Nabi SAWW ne use bula kar do rakaat padhne ka hukum diya, phir yeke baad digare do aadmi aur aaye aur Nabi SAWW ne unhen bhi yehi hukum diya, phir logon ko sadqa dene ki targheeb di, log sadqat dene lage, phir Nabi SAWW ne un sadqat mein se do kapde lekar us aane wale ko de diye aur farmaya ki logo! sadqa do, is par is aadmi ne aik kapda sadqat mein daal diya, uski is harkat par Nabi SAWW ne use daanta aur aap SAWW ko uski yeh harkat nagawar guzri, chunancha aap SAWW ne farmaya ki is shakhs ko dekho, yeh masjid mein paraganda halat mein aaya tha, main ne use bulaya, mujhe umeed thi ki tum use kuch de kar us par sadqa karoge aur use saaf kapde pehnao doge, lekin tum ne aisa nah kiya, phir main ne tum se sarahatan sadqa karne ke liye kaha, tum ne sadqa kiya aur main ne is mein se do kapde use de diye, phir dobara sadqa ki targheeb di to us ne in mein se aik kapda is mein daal diya, yeh apna kapda le lo, Nabi SAWW ne use daant kar farmaya.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيَاضٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ الْمَسْجِدَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، فَدَعَاهُ، فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْجُمُعَةَ الثَّانِيَةَ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، فَدَعَاهُ، فَأَمَرَهُ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْجُمُعَةَ الثَّالِثَةَ، فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" تَصَدَّقُوا" فَفَعَلُوا، فَأَعْطَاهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ مِمَّا تَصَدَّقُوا، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" تَصَدَّقُوا" فَأَلْقَى أَحَدَ ثَوْبَيْهِ، فَانْتَهَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَرِهَ مَا صَنَعَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" انْظُرُوا إِلَى هَذَا فَإِنَّهُ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فِي هَيْئَةٍ بَذَّةٍ، فَدَعَوْتُهُ، فَرَجَوْتُ أَنْ تُعْطُوا لَهُ، فَتَصَدَّقُوا عَلَيْهِ، وَتَكْسُوهُ، فَلَمْ تَفْعَلُوا، فَقُلْتُ: تَصَدَّقُوا، فَتَصَدَّقُوا، فَأَعْطَيْتُهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ مِمَّا تَصَدَّقُوا، ثُمَّ قُلْتُ: تَصَدَّقُوا، فَأَلْقَى أَحَدَ ثَوْبَيْهِ، خُذْ ثَوْبَكَ" وَانْتَهَرَهُ.
