Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11454
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When there are three people, then at the time of prayer, one person should become the Imam, and the most deserving of leadership among them is the one who knows the most Quran.

حضرت ابوسعید رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا جہاں تین آدمی ہوں تو نماز کے وقت ایک آدمی امام بن جائے اور ان میں امامت کا زیادہ حقدار وہ ہے جو ان میں زیادہ قرآن جاننے والا ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jahan teen aadmi hon to namaz ke waqt ek aadmi imam ban jaye aur un mein imamat ka ziada haqdar woh hai jo un mein ziada quran jaan'ne wala ho.
حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:" إِذَا كَانُوا ثَلَاثَةً، فَلْيَؤُمَّهُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ، وَأَحَقُّهُمْ بِالْإِمَامَةِ أَقْرَؤُهُمْ".
