Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11582
Abu Nadrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once he asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) about the sale of gold for silver. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "Is the transaction hand to hand?". He (Abu Nadrah) said, "Yes." Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "There is no harm in that." Later, he (Abu Nadrah) met Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and told him that he had asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) this question and that he had said there was no harm in it. Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Did he say that? We will write him a letter that he should not give such a verdict. By Allah! A young man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with some dates. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) felt something strange about them, so he asked him, 'These dates do not seem to be from our area?' He said, 'We gave two Sa' of our dates and took one Sa' of these good quality dates.' The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'You have engaged in Riba (interest/usury), do not go near it. When you do not like your dates, then sell them and then buy the ones you like.'"

ابو نضرہ رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ سے سونے چاندی کی فروخت کے متعلق پوچھا، انہوں نے فرمایا جب کہ معاملہ ہاتھوں ہاتھ ہو؟ میں نے کہا جی ہاں! انہوں نے فرمایا اس میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے، پھر حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے ملاقات ہوئی تو میں نے انہیں بتایا کہ میں نے حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ سے یہ سوال پوچھا تھا اور انہوں نے فرمایا تھا کہ اس میں کوئی حرج نہیں، انہوں نے فرمایا کیا انہوں نے یہ بات کہی ہے؟ ہم انہیں خط لکھیں گے کہ وہ یہ فتویٰ نہ دیا کریں، بخدا! نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں ایک جوان کچھ کھجوریں لے کر آیا، نبی ﷺ کو وہ کچھ اوپرا سا معاملہ لگا، اس لئے اس سے فرمایا کہ یہ ہمارے علاقے کی کھجور نہیں لگتی، اس نے کہا کہ ہم نے اپنی دو صاع کھجوریں دے کر ان عمدہ کھجوروں کا ایک صاع لے لیا ہے۔ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا تم نے سودی معاملہ کیا، اس کے قریب بھی نہ جانا، جب تمہیں اپنی کوئی کھجور اچھی نہ لگے تو اسے بیچو پھر اپنی مرضی کی خرید لو۔
Abu Nadra rahmatullah alaih kahte hain ke ek martaba maine Hazrat Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se sone chandi ki farokht ke mutalliq poocha, unhon ne farmaya jab ke mamla hathon hath ho? Maine kaha ji haan! Unhon ne farmaya is mein koi harj nahin hai, phir Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se mulaqat hui to maine unhen bataya ke maine Hazrat Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se ye sawal poocha tha aur unhon ne farmaya tha ke is mein koi harj nahin, unhon ne farmaya kya unhon ne ye baat kahi hai? Hum unhen khat likhenge ke wo ye fatwa na diya karen, Khuda! Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein ek jawan kuchh khajoorein le kar aaya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko wo kuchh opra sa mamla laga, is liye us se farmaya ke ye humare ilake ki khajoor nahin lagti, us ne kaha ke hum ne apni do saa khajoorein de kar in umda khajooron ka ek saa le liya hai. Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum ne soodi mamla kiya, is ke qareeb bhi na jana, jab tumhen apni koi khajoor achhi na lage to use becho phir apni marzi ki kharid lo.
حدثنا إسماعيل , عَنْ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّرْفِ، فَقَالَ: يَدٌ بِيَدٍ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ , قَالَ: لَا بَأْسَ , فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ أَنِّي سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّرْفِ، فَقَالَ: لَا بَأْسَ , فَقَالَ: أَوَ قَالَ ذَاكَ؟ أَمَّا إِنَّا سَنَكْتُبُ إِلَيْهِ فَلَنْ يُفْتِيَكُمُوهُ ,: فَوَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ جَاءَ بَعْضُ فِتْيَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَمْرٍ، فَأَنْكَرَهُ، فَقَالَ:" كَأَنَّ هَذَا لَيْسَ مِنْ تَمْرِ أَرْضِنَا" , فَقَالَ: كَانَ فِي تَمْرِنَا الْعَامَ بَعْضُ الشَّيْءِ، وَأَخَذْتُ هَذَا، وَزِدْتُ بَعْضَ الزِّيَادَةِ، فَقَالَ:" أَضْعَفْتَ، أَرْبَيْتَ، لَا تَقْرَبَنَّ هَذَا، إِذَا رَابَكَ مِنْ تَمْرِكَ شَيْءٌ فَبِعْهُ، ثُمَّ اشْتَرِ الَّذِي تُرِيدُ مِنَ التَّمْرِ".
