Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11678
Abu Sa'eed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not let the fear of people and their awe prevent any of you from speaking the truth, if he knows it." Abu Sa'eed (may Allah be pleased with him) then wept and said: "By Allah, we saw these situations, but we did not stand up."

حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا لوگوں کی ہیبت اور رعب و دبدبہ تم میں سے کسی کو حق بات کہنے سے نہ روکے، جب کہ وہ اس کے علم میں آجائے، یہ کہہ کر حضرت ابو سعید رضی اللہ عنہ رو پڑے اور فرمایا بخدا! ہم نے یہ حالات دیکھے لیکن ہم کھڑے نہ ہوئے۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya logon ki haibat aur raub o dabdaba tum mein se kisi ko haq baat kehne se na roke, jab keh woh uske ilm mein aajaye, yeh keh kar Hazrat Abu Saeed (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ro pade aur farmaya bukhuda! hum ne yeh haalaat dekhe lekin hum kharre na huye.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيّ , قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ رَجُلًا مَهَابَةُ النَّاسِ أَنْ يَقُومَ بِحَقٍّ إِذَا عَلِمَهُ". قَالَ: ثُمَّ بَكَى أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: قَدْ وَاللَّهِ شَهِدْنَاهُ، فَمَا قُمْنَا بِهِ.
