Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1535
It is narrated on the authority of Saad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It is better for one of you to fill his stomach with pus than to fill it with poetry."
Grade: Sahih
سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”تم میں سے کسی کا پیٹ قئی سے بھر جانا اس بات کی نسبت زیادہ بہتر ہے کہ وہ شعر سے بھر جائے۔“
Sayyidna Saad Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: ”Tum mein se kisi ka pet qai se bhar jana is baat ki nisbat ziada behtar hai ki woh sher se bhar jaye.“
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:" لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا وَدَمًا، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا".
