Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 16584
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna 'Amr bin Qari (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set out for Hunayn, he left behind Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) who was ill. When the Prophet returned after performing 'Umrah from Ji'ranah and visited him, he found him struggling due to the severity of his illness. Sayyiduna Sa'd said, "O Messenger of Allah! I possess wealth and property, and my only heir is a daughter. Should I bequeath all my wealth or give it in charity?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "No." He (Sayyiduna Sa'd) asked about bequeathing two-thirds of his wealth. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) again said, "No." Then he asked about half of it, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade it. He then asked about one-third, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Yes! Even one-third is a lot." Then Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will I die in this land from which I migrated?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "I hope that Allah will grant you honor and that He will elevate many through you and humiliate many through you." Then, addressing 'Amr bin Qari, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "O 'Amr bin Qari! If Sa'd passes away after I'm gone, then bury him here," and pointing with his hand towards the direction of Madinah, he continued, "...".

سیدنا عمرو بن قاری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ جب حنین کی طرف روانہ ہوئے تو اپنے پیچھے سیدنا سعد کو بیمار چھوڑ گئے اور جب جعرانہ سے عمرہ کر کے واپس تشریف لائے اور ان کے پاس گئے تو وہ تکلیف کی شدت سے نڈھال ہو رہے تھے، وہ کہنے لگے یا رسول اللہ!! میرے پاس مال و دولت ہے، میرے ورثاء میں صرف کلالہ ہے کیا میں اپنے سارے مال کے متعلق کوئی وصیت کر دوں یا اسے صدقہ کر دوں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: نہیں انہوں نے دو تہائی مال کی وصیت کے متعلق پوچھا:، نبی ﷺ نے پھر فرمایا: نہیں، انہوں نے نصف مال کے متعلق پوچھا:، نبی ﷺ نے پھر منع فرما دیا، انہوں نے ایک تہائی کے متعلق پوچھا: تو نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ہاں! اور ایک تہائی بھی بہت زیادہ ہے۔ پھر سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کہنے لگے یا رسول اللہ!! میں اس سر زمین میں مروں گا جس سے میں ہجرت کر کے چلا گیا تھا؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: مجھے امید ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ تمہیں رفعتیں عطاء فرمائے گا اور تمہاری بدولت بہت سوں کو سرنگوں اور بہت سوں کو سربلند کر ے گا، اے عمرو بن قاری! اگر میرے پیچھے سعد کا انتقال ہو جائے تو انہیں یہاں دفن کرنا اور یہ کہہ کر نبی ﷺ نے اپنے ہاتھ سے مدینہ منورہ کی طرف جانے والے راستے کی جانب اشارہ فرمایا:۔
Sayyidana Amr bin Qari RA se marvi hai ki Nabi SAW jab Hunain ki taraf rawana hue to apne peeche Sayyidana Saad ko bimar chhor gaye aur jab Jairana se Umrah kar ke wapas tashreef laaye aur un ke paas gaye to woh takleef ki shiddat se nidhaal ho rahe the, woh kahne lage Ya Rasulullah!! mere paas maal o daulat hai, mere warasa mein sirf kalala hai kya main apne sare maal ke mutalliq koi wasiyat kar dun ya ise sadqa kar dun? Nabi SAW ne farmaya: nahi unhon ne do tihai maal ki wasiyat ke mutalliq poocha:, Nabi SAW ne phir farmaya: nahi, unhon ne nisf maal ke mutalliq poocha:, Nabi SAW ne phir mana farma diya, unhon ne ek tihai ke mutalliq poocha: to Nabi SAW ne farmaya: haan! aur ek tihai bhi bahut zyada hai. phir Sayyidana Saad RA kahne lage Ya Rasulullah!! main is sar zameen mein marunga jis se main hijrat kar ke chala gaya tha? Nabi SAW ne farmaya: mujhe umeed hai ki Allah Ta'ala tumhen raf'aten ata farmaye ga aur tumhari badaulat bahut son ko sar nigun aur bahut son ko sarbuland kare ga, ae Amr bin Qari! agar mere peeche Saad ka inteqal ho jaye to unhen yahan dafan karna aur yeh kah kar Nabi SAW ne apne haath se Madina Munawwara ki taraf jane wale raste ki janib ishara farmaya:.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْقَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْقَارِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِمَ فَخَلَّفَ سَعْدًا مَرِيضًا حَيْثُ خَرَجَ إِلَى حُنَيْنٍ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ مِنْ جِعِرَّانَةَ مُعْتَمِرًا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ وَجِعٌ مَغْلُوبٌ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ لِي مَالًا، وَإِنِّي أُورَثُ كَلَالَةً، أَفَأُوصِي بِمَالِي كُلِّهِ، أَوْ أَتَصَدَّقُ بِهِ؟، قَالَ:" لَا"، قَالَ: أَفَأُوصِي بِثُلُثَيْهِ؟، قَالَ:" لَا"، قَالَ: أَفَأُوصِي بِشَطْرِهِ؟، قَالَ:" لَا"، قَالَ: أَفَأُوصِي بِثُلُثِهِ؟ قَالَ:" نَعَمْ، وَذَاكَ كَثِيرٌ"، قَالَ: أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَمُوتُ بِالدَّارِ الَّتِي خَرَجْتُ مِنْهَا مُهَاجِرًا؟، قَالَ:" إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ يَرْفَعَكَ اللَّهُ، فَيَنْكَأَ بِكَ أَقْوَامًا، وَيَنْفَعَ بِكَ آخَرِينَ، يَا عَمْرُو بْنَ الْقَارِيِّ، إِنْ مَاتَ سَعْدٌ بَعْدِي، فَهَا هُنَا فَادْفُنْهُ نَحْوَ طَرِيقِ الْمَدِينَةِ" وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا.
