The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1839
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Whatever Allah wills and whatever you will." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Are you making me equal to Allah? Rather say: Whatever Allah alone wills."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے نبی ﷺ سے کہا: جو اللہ چاہے اور جو آپ چاہیں۔ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”کیا تو مجھے اور اللہ کو برابر کر رہا ہے؟ یوں کہو: جو اللہ تنہا چاہے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek aadmi ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se kaha: Jo Allah chahe aur jo aap chahen. Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Kya tum mujhe aur Allah ko barabar kar raha hai? Yun kaho: Jo Allah tanha chahe."
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَجْلَحُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ وَشِئْتَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" أَجَعَلْتَنِي وَاللَّهَ عَدْلًا؟ بَلْ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ".
