Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18524
It is narrated on the authority of Bara (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he asked us: “Which rope of Islam is the strongest?” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: “Prayer.” The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Very good, then what?” They said: “Zakat.” He said: “Very good, then what?” They said: “Fasting in the month of Ramadan.” He said: “Very good, then what?” They said: “Hajj to the House of Allah.” He said: “Very good, then what?” They said: “Jihad.” The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Very good,” and then he said: “The strongest rope of faith is that you love or hate someone for the sake of Allah.”

حضرت براء رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ کے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ ہم سے پوچھنے لگے اسلام کی کون سے رسی سب سے زیادہ مضبوط ہے؟ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا نماز، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا بہت خوب اس کے بعد؟ صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا زکوۃ، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا بہت خوب، اس کے بعد؟ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا ماہ رمضان کے روزے، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا بہت خوب، اس کے بعد؟ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا حج بیت اللہ، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا بہت خوب، اس کے بعد؟ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا جہاد، نبی کریم ﷺ نے بہت خوب کہہ کر فرمایا ایمان کی سب سے مضبوط رسی یہ ہے کہ تم اللہ کی رضا کے لئے کسی سے محبت یا نفرت کرو۔
Hazrat Bara RA se marvi hai keh aik martaba hum log Nabi Kareem SAW ke pass baithe hue thay keh Nabi Kareem SAW hum se puchne lage Islam ki kon se rassi sab se zyada mazboot hai? Sahaba kiram RA ne arz kiya namaz, Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya bahut khoob is ke baad? Sahaba RA ne arz kiya zakat, Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya bahut khoob, is ke baad? Sahaba kiram RA ne arz kiya mah Ramadan ke roze, Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya bahut khoob, is ke baad? Sahaba kiram RA ne arz kiya Hajj Baitullah, Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya bahut khoob, is ke baad? Sahaba kiram RA ne arz kiya jihad, Nabi Kareem SAW ne bahut khoob keh kar farmaya iman ki sab se mazboot rassi yeh hai keh tum Allah ki raza ke liye kisi se mohabbat ya nafrat karo.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، قَالَ: كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ:" أَيُّ عُرَى الْإِسْلَامِ أَوْثَق؟" قَالُوا: الصَّلَاةُ. قَالَ:" حَسَنَةٌ، وَمَا هِيَ بِهَا". قَالُوا: الزَّكَاةُ. قَالَ:" حَسَنَةٌ، وَمَا هِيَ بِهَا". قَالُوا: صِيَامُ رَمَضَانَ. قَالَ:" حَسَنٌ، وَمَا هُوَ بِهِ". قَالُوا: الْحَجُّ. قَالَ:" حَسَنٌ وَمَا هُوَ بِهِ". قَالُوا: الْجِهَادُ. قَالَ:" حَسَنٌ وَمَا هُوَ بِهِ". قَالَ:" إِنَّ أَوْثَق عُرَى الْإِيمَانِ أَنْ تُحِبَّ فِي اللَّهِ، وَتُبْغِضَ فِي اللَّهِ" .
