The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1864
It is narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) there was a solar eclipse. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood with his companions and started the prayer. He recited a long Surah, then performed the bowing (Ruku), then raised his head and recited again. He then performed Ruku and two prostrations (Sajdah). Then, he stood up again, recited, performed Ruku and two Sajdahs. Thus, he performed four Ruku and four Sajdahs in two Rak'ahs (units of prayer).

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ عہد نبوت میں سورج گرہن ہوا، نبی ﷺ اپنے صحابہ کے ساتھ کھڑے ہوئے، نبی ﷺ نے نماز شروع کی اور ایک لمبی سورت کی تلاوت فرمائی، پھر رکوع کیا، پھر سر اٹھا کر قراءت کی، پھر رکوع کر کے دو سجدے کئے، پھر کھڑے ہو کر قراءت، رکوع اور دو سجدے کئے، اس طرح دو رکعتوں میں چار رکوع اور چار سجدے ہوئے۔
Syedna Ibn Abbas RA se marvi hai keh aik martaba ahd e nabuat mein suraj grahan hua, Nabi SAW apne sahaba ke sath kharay huye, Nabi SAW ne namaz shuru ki aur ek lambi surat ki tilawat farmai, phir ruku kia, phir sar utha kar qirat ki, phir ruku kar ke do sajde kiye, phir kharay ho kar qirat, ruku aur do sajde kiye, is tarah do rak'aton mein chaar ruku aur chaar sajde huye.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ" فَقَرَأَ سُورَةً طَوِيلَةً، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَرَأَ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَقَرَأَ وَرَكَعَ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ، أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ".
