Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20155
It is narrated on the authority of Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Salat-ul-Wusta (the middle prayer) refers to the afternoon prayer (Asr)."

حضرت سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا صلوۃ الوسطی سے نماز عصر مراد ہے۔
Hazrat Samra (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Salatul Wusta se Namaz Asar murad hai.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الصَّلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ" .
