The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2067
Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), during the Farewell Hajj, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by the valley of 'Asfan, he asked Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), "O Abu Bakr, what valley is this?" He replied, "This is the valley of 'Asfan." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "From here, Prophet Hud and Prophet Salih (peace be upon them) passed, riding reddish-brown camels with reins made of palm fiber. They wore garments of wool and their tents were made of striped cloth. They were reciting the Talbiyah and heading towards the House of Allah for Hajj."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ حجۃ الوداع کے موقع پر نبی ﷺ کا گزر وادی عسفان پر ہوا تو آپ ﷺ نے سیدنا ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا: ”اے ابوبکر! یہ کون سی وادی ہے؟“ انہوں نے عرض کیا: وادی عسفان، فرمایا: ”یہاں سے حضرت ہود اور حضرت صالح علیہما السلام ایسی سرخ جوان اونٹنیوں پر ہو کر گزرے ہیں جن کی نکیل کھجور کی چھال کی تھی، ان کے تہبند عباء تھے اور ان کی چادریں چیتے کی کھالیں تھیں اور وہ تلبیہ کہتے ہوئے بیت اللہ کے حج کے لئے جارہے تھے۔“
Sayyidina Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Hajjat al-Wida ke mauqe par Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka guzar wadi Asfan par hua to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Sayyidina Abu Bakr Siddiq (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se pucha: “Ae Abu Bakr! Yeh kaun si wadi hai?” Unhon ne arz kiya: Wadi Asfan, farmaya: “Yahan se Hazrat Hud aur Hazrat Salih Alaihima as-salam aisi surkh jawan untniyon par ho kar guzare hain jin ki nakel khajur ki chhal ki thi, un ke tehband abaa the aur un ki chadariyan cheete ki khalen thin aur wo talbiyah kahte hue Bait Allah ke Hajj ke liye ja rahe the.”
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ وَهْرَامٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: لَمَّا مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِوَادِي عُسْفَانَ حِينَ حَجَّ، قَالَ:" يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ، أَيُّ وَادٍ هَذَا؟" , قَالَ: وَادِي عُسْفَانَ، قَالَ:" لَقَدْ مَرَّ بِهِ هُودٌ وَصَالِحٌ عَلَى بَكَرَاتٍ حُمْرٍ خُطُمُهَا اللِّيفُ أُزُرُهُمْ الْعَبَاءُ وَأَرْدِيَتُهُمْ النِّمَارُ يُلَبُّونَ يَحُجُّونَ الْبَيْتَ الْعَتِيقَ".
