The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2134
Narrated by Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), that once 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about his sister who had vowed to go to the Ka'bah on foot, but now she had become weak. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Allah has no need of your sister's vow. She should go riding and give a camel in charity."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عقبہ بن عامر رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی ﷺ سے یہ مسئلہ پوچھا کہ ان کی بہن نے یہ منت مانی ہے کہ وہ پیدل بیت اللہ شریف جائے گی لیکن اب وہ کمزور ہو گئی ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ ”اللہ تعالیٰ تمہاری بہن کی اس منت سے بےنیاز ہے، اسے چاہئے کہ سواری پر چلی جائے اور ایک اونٹ بطور ہدی کے لے جائے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik martaba Sayyidna Uqba bin Aamir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se yeh masla poocha ki unki behan ne yeh mannat maani hai ki woh paidal Baitullah Shareef jayegi lekin ab woh kamzor ho gayi hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki “Allah Ta'ala tumhari behan ki iss mannat se beniyaz hai, use chahiye ki sawari per chali jaye aur ek unt ba tor hadi ke liye le jaye.”
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنَّ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أُخْتَهُ نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَمْشِيَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ، وَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ ضَعْفَهَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْ نَذْرِ أُخْتِك، فَلْتَرْكَبْ وَلْتُهْدِ بَدَنَةً".
