Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21589
Ibn Dilami (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Once I went to visit Abi bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "O Abu al-Mundhir! Some doubts about predestination have arisen in my heart. Please tell me a hadith that will remove these doubts from my heart." He replied, "Even if Allah were to punish all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, He would not be unjust to them. And if He were to have mercy on them, His mercy would be greater than their deeds. And if you were to spend gold equal to the mountain of Uhud in the way of Allah, He would not accept it from you until you believe firmly in predestination and believe that what has befallen you could not have missed you, and what has missed you could not have befallen you. If you die on other than this belief, you will enter Hellfire." Then I went to Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he gave me the same answer. Then I went to Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), and he gave me the same answer. Then I went to Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), and he gave me the same answer and narrated it from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

ابن دیلمی رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں حضرت ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ سے ملاقات کے لئے گیا اور عرض کیا کہ اے ابوالمنذر؟ میرے دل میں تقدیر کے متعلق کچھ وسوسے پیدار ہو رہے ہیں آپ مجھے کوئی ایسی حدیث سنائیے جس کی برکت سے میرے دل سے یہ وسوسے دور ہوجائیں انہوں نے فرمایا کہ اگر اللہ تعالیٰ تمام آسمان و زمین والوں کو عذاب میں مبتلا کردیں تو اللہ تعالیٰ پھر بھی ان پر ظلم کرنے والے نہیں ہوں گے اور اگر ان پر رحم کردیں تو یہ رحمت ان کے اعمال سے بڑھ کر ہوگی اور اگر تم اللہ کے راستہ میں احد پہاڑ کے برابر بھی سونا خرچ کردو گے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اسے اس وقت تک تمہاری طرف سے قبول نہیں فرمائے گا جب تک تم تقدیر پر کامل ایمان نہ لے آؤ اور یہ یقین نہ کرلو کہ تمہیں جو چیز پیش آئی ہے وہ تم سے چوک نہیں سکتی تھی اور جو چیز تم سے چوک گئی ہے وہ تم پر آ نہیں سکتی تھی، اگر تمہاری موت اس کے علاوہ کسی اور عقیدے پر ہوئی تو تم جہنم میں داخل ہوگے۔ پھر میں حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے بھی مجھے یہی جواب دیا۔ پھر میں حضرت ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے بھی مجھے یہ جواب دیا۔ پھر میں حضرت زید بن ثابت کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے بھی مجھے یہ جواب دیا۔ اور نبی کریم ﷺ کے حوالے سے بیان کیا۔
Ibn e Dailmi rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke aik martaba main Hazrat Ubay bin Ka'b (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se mulaqat ke liye gaya aur arz kiya ke aye Abu'l-Mundhir? Mere dil mein taqdeer ke mutalliq kuch waswase paida ho rahe hain aap mujhe koi aisi hadees sunaaiye jis ki barkat se mere dil se yeh waswase door ho jaayen unhon ne farmaya ke agar Allah ta'ala tamam aasman o zameen walon ko azab mein mubtala kar den to Allah ta'ala phir bhi un par zulm karne wale nahin honge aur agar un par reham kar den to yeh rehmat un ke aamaal se barh kar hogi aur agar tum Allah ke raaste mein Uhud paharr ke barabar bhi sona kharch kar do ge to Allah ta'ala usay us waqt tak tumhari taraf se qubool nahin farmaye ga jab tak tum taqdeer par kaamil imaan na le aao aur yeh yaqeen na kar lo ke tumhen jo cheez pesh aai hai woh tum se chook nahin sakti thi aur jo cheez tum se chook gayi hai woh tum par aa nahin sakti thi, agar tumhari maut is ke alawa kisi aur aqeede par hui to tum jahannam mein dakhil hoge. Phir main Hazrat Huzaifa (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke paas aaya to unhon ne bhi mujhe yahi jawab diya. Phir main Hazrat Ibn e Mas'ood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke paas aaya to unhon ne bhi mujhe yahi jawab diya. Phir main Hazrat Zaid bin Sabit ke paas aaya to unhon ne bhi mujhe yahi jawab diya. Aur Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hawale se bayan kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سِنَانٍ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ ، قَالَ: لَقِيتُ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ، إِنَّهُ قَدْ وَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِي شَيْءٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْقَدَرِ، فَحَدِّثْنِي بِشَيْءٍ، لَعَلَّهُ يَذْهَبُ مِنْ قَلْبِي، قَالَ: " لَوْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَذَّبَ أَهْلَ سَمَاوَاتِهِ وَأَهْلَ أَرْضِهِ، لَعَذَّبَهُمْ وَهُوَ غَيْرُ ظَالِمٍ لَهُمْ، وَلَوْ رَحِمَهُمْ، كَانَتْ رَحْمَتُهُ لَهُمْ خَيْرًا مِنْ أَعْمَالِهِمْ، وَلَوْ أَنْفَقْتَ جَبَلَ أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، مَا قَبِلَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْكَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ، وَتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ مَا أَصَابَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَكَ، وَمَا أَخْطَأَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَكَ، وَلَوْ مِتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ، لَدَخَلْتَ النَّارَ"، قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُ حُذَيْفَةَ، فَقَالَ لِي: مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، وَأَتَيْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، فَقَالَ لِي: مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَأَتَيْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ فَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
