The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2278
Narrated by Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), once 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about his sister who had vowed to go to the Ka'bah on foot, but now she had become weak. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Allah is not in need of your sister's vow; she should go riding and give a camel in charity."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عقبہ بن عامر رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی ﷺ سے یہ مسئلہ پوچھا کہ ان کی بہن نے یہ منت مانی ہے کہ وہ پیدل بیت اللہ شریف جائے گی، لیکن اب وہ کمزور ہو گئی ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ ”اللہ تعالیٰ تمہاری بہن کی اس منت سے بےنیاز ہے، اسے چاہئے کہ سواری پر چلی جائے اور ایک اونٹ بطور ہدی کے لے جائے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas RA se marvi hai ki aik martaba Sayyidna Uqba bin Amir RA ne Nabi SAW se yeh masla poocha ki un ki behan ne yeh mannat maani hai ki woh paidal Baitullah Sharif jayegi, lekin ab woh kamzor ho gayi hai, Nabi SAW ne farmaya ki "Allah Ta'ala tumhari behan ki is mannat se beniaz hai, use chahie ki sawari par chali jaye aur ek unt ba tor hadi ke le jaye."
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنَّ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أُخْتَهُ نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَمْشِيَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ , فَقَالَ:" إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنْ نَذْرِ أُخْتِكَ، لِتَحُجَّ رَاكِبَةً، وَلْتُهْدِ بَدَنَةً".
