The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2385
Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on a rainy day. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would go into prostration, he would spread his shawl on the ground to avoid the mud, and then place his hands on it.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو ایک مرتبہ بارش کے دن دیکھا کہ جب آپ ﷺ سجدے میں جاتے تو زمین کے کیچڑ سے بچنے کے لئے اپنی چادر کو زمین پر بچھا لیتے، پھر اس پر ہاتھ رکھتے۔
Saina Ibne Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai keh maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko aik martaba barish ke din dekha keh jab Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sajde mein jate to zameen ke kechar se bachne ke liye apni chadar ko zameen par bichha lete, phir us par hath rakhte.
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَوْمٍ مَطِيرٍ وَهُوَ" يَتَّقِي الطِّينَ إِذَا سَجَدَ بِكِسَاءٍ عليه، يَجْعَلُهُ دُونَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ إِذَا سَجَدَ".
