Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 23863
It is narrated by Abu Rafi (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) or his son passed by me. They had been appointed to collect Zakat. They invited me to go with them. I went into the presence of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked him about it. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "O Abu Rafi! Zakat is forbidden upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and a freed slave of a nation is counted among them."

حضرت ابو رافع رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ارقم رضی اللہ عنہ یا ان کے صاحبزادے میرے پاس سے گذرے انہیں زکوٰۃ کی وصولی کے لئے مقرر کیا گیا تھا انہوں نے مجھے اپنے ساتھ چلنے کی دعوت دی میں نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور ان سے اس کے متعلق پوچھا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ اے ابو رافع! محمد و آل محمد ﷺ پر زکوٰۃ حرام ہے اور کسی قوم کا آزاد کردہ غلام ان ہی میں شمار ہوتا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Rafi RA se marvi hai ki ek martaba Arqam RA ya un ke sahibzade mere pass se guzre unhen zakat ki wasooli ke liye muqarrar kya gaya tha unhon ne mujhe apne sath chalne ki dawat di main Nabi Kareem SAW ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur un se iske mutalliq poocha to Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya ki aye Abu Rafi Muhammad o Aal e Muhammad SAW par zakat haram hai aur kisi qaum ka azad karda ghulam unhi mein shumar hota hai
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أخبرنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، قَالَ: مَرَّ عَلَيَّ الْأَرْقَمُ الزُّهْرِيُّ أَوْ ابْنُ أَبِي الْأَرْقَمِ وَاسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَى الصَّدَقَاتِ، قَالَ: فَاسْتَتْبَعَنِي، قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ، " إِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ حَرَامٌ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، إِنَّ مَوْلَى الْقَوْمِ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ" .
