The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2539
Abu Hassan said that a man asked Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him: “O Abu Al-Abbas! What is the truth of this fatwa that has become very popular among the people that whoever performs Tawaf of the Kaaba becomes lawful?" He said: “This is the Sunnah of your Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, even if it is disagreeable to you."

ابوحسان کہتے ہیں کہ ایک آدمی نے سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے عرض کیا: اے ابوالعباس! لوگوں میں یہ فتوی جو بہت مشہور ہوا ہے اس کی کیا حقیقت ہے کہ جو شخص بیت اللہ کا طواف کر لے وہ حلال ہو جاتا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: یہ تمہارے نبی ﷺ کی سنت ہے اگرچہ تمہیں ناگوار ہی گزرے۔
Abu Hasan kahte hain ki aik aadmi ne Sayyidna Ibn Abbas Radi Allah Anhuma se arz kiya: Aye Abulabbas! Logon mein ye fatwa jo bahut mashhoor hua hai is ki kya haqiqat hai ki jo shakhs Baitullah ka tawaf kar le woh halal ho jata hai? Unhon ne farmaya: Ye tumhare Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki sunnat hai agarche tumhen nagawar hi guzre.
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَسَّانَ , أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : إِنَّ هَذَا الَّذِي تَقُولُ، قَدْ تَفَشَّغَ فِي النَّاسِ، قَالَ هَمَّامٌ: يَعْنِي كُلُّ مَنْ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ فَقَدْ حَلَّ , فَقَالَ:" سُنَّةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَإِنْ رَغِمْتُمْ , قَالَ هَمَّامٌ: يَعْنِي مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ".
