Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 25907
Abdullah bin Shaqiq reported that he asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the voluntary prayers of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray long prayers, both standing and sitting. When he prayed standing, he would bow standing, and when he prayed sitting, he would bow sitting. Then I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) voluntary fasts. She said that sometimes the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would fast so much that we would start talking about it, and sometimes he would not fast so we would start talking about that. And after coming to Madinah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not fast for a whole month except for Ramadan.

عبداللہ بن شقیق کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے نبی ﷺ کی نفل نمازوں کے متعلق دریافت کیا تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ نبی ﷺ کھڑے ہو کر اور بیٹھ کر طویل نماز پڑھتے تھے، جب کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھتے تو کھڑے ہو کر ہی رکوع کرتے اور بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھتے تو رکوع بھی بیٹھ کر ہی کرتے، پھر میں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے نبی ﷺ کے نفلی روزوں کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے بتایا کہ بعض اوقات نبی ﷺ اتنے روزے رکھتے کہ ہم اس کا تذکرہ کرنے لگتے اور بعض اوقات ناغے کرتے کہ ہم اس کا تذکرہ کرنے لگتے اور مدینہ منورہ آنے کے بعد نبی ﷺ نے ماہ رمضان کے علاوہ کسی مہینے کے پورے روزے نہیں رکھے۔
Abdullah bin Shaqeek kehte hain ke maine Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki nafl namaazon ke mutalliq daryaft kiya to unhon ne farmaya ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kharay ho kar aur baith kar tawil namaz parhte thay, jab kharay ho kar namaz parhte to kharay ho kar hi ruku karte aur baith kar namaz parhte to ruku bhi baith kar hi karte, phir maine Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke nafli rozon ke mutalliq poocha to unhon ne bataya ke baaz auqaat Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) itne rozey rakhte ke hum is ka tazkara karne lagte aur baaz auqaat naghe karte ke hum is ka tazkara karne lagte aur Madina Munawwara aane ke baad Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mah-e-Ramzan ke ilawa kisi mahine ke poorey rozey nahi rakhe.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ هِشَامٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ , قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَتْ: " كَانَ يُطِيلُ الصَّلَاةَ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا , وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى قَائِمًا , رَكَعَ قَائِمًا , وَإِذَا صَلَّى قَاعِدًا , رَكَعَ قَاعِدًا" , وَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ صِيَامِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَتْ:" كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ صَامَ , قَدْ صَامَ , قَدْ صَامَ , وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ , قَدْ أَفْطَرَ , قَدْ أَفْطَرَ , وَلَمْ يَصُمْ شَهْرًا تَامًّا مُنْذُ أَتَى الْمَدِينَةَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ" .
