Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26248
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would observe Itikaf and would put his head out of the mosque, and I would comb his hair with a comb, even though I would be menstruating.

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ معتکف ہوتے اور مسجد سے اپنا سر باہر نکال دیتے، میں اسے خطمی سے دھو دیتی حالانکہ میں ایام سے ہوتی تھی۔
Hazrat Ayesha raziallahu anha se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) itikaf hote aur masjid se apna sar bahar nikal dete, main ise khumai se dho deti halanki main ayam se hoti thi.
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ , حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ , عَنْ حَمَّادٍ , عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ , عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ: " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُعْتَكِفًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ , فَيُخْرِجُ رَأْسَهُ , فَأَغْسِلُهُ بِالْخِطْمِيِّ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ" .
