Hadith of Khansa' bint Khidam from the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26791
Hajjaj bin Saib narrates that his grandmother, Umm Saib Khnas bint Khuzaam, was married to a man before Abu Lubabah. When she became a widow, her father Khuzaam bin Khalid married her to a man from the Banu Amr bin Awf tribe. However, she refused to go to anyone except Abu Lubabah. Her father insisted on marrying her to the man from Banu Amr bin Awf. The matter was brought before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ruled that Khnas had more right in her matter. Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), in accordance with her wish, annulled her marriage with the man from Banu Amr bin Awf and married her to Abu Lubabah. To them was born Saib bin Abu Lubabah.

حجاج بن سائب کہتے ہیں کہ ان کی دادی ام سائب خناس بنت خذام حضرت ابولبابہ سے پہلے ایک اور آدمی کے نکاح میں تھیں، وہ اس سے بیوہ ہوگئیں تو ان کے والد خذام بن خالد نے ان کا نکاح بنو عمروبن عوف کے ایک آدمی سے کردیا، لیکن انہوں نے ابولبابہ کے علاوہ کسی اور کے پاس جانے سے انکار کردیا، ان کے والد بنوعمروبن عوف کے اس آدمی سے ہی ان کا نکاح کرنے پر مصر تھے، حتی کہ یہ معاملہ نبی ﷺ کی بارگاہ میں پیش ہوا نبی ﷺ نے یہ فیصلہ فرمایا کہ خنساء کو اپنے معاملے کا زیادہ اختیار ہے لہذا نبی ﷺ نے ان کی خواہش کے مطابق بنو عمروبن عوف کے اس آدمی کے نکاح سے نکال کر حضرت ابولبابہ سے ان کا نکاح کردیا اور ان کے یہاں سائب بن ابولبابہ پیدا ہوئے۔
Hajaj bin Saib kahte hain ki un ki dadi Umm Saib Khanas bint Khuzaam Hazrat Abu Lubabah se pehle aik aur aadmi ke nikah mein thin, woh us se bewa ho gai to un ke walid Khuzaam bin Khalid ne un ka nikah Banu Amr bin Auf ke aik aadmi se kar dia, lekin unhon ne Abu Lubabah ke ilawa kisi aur ke paas jaane se inkaar kar dia, un ke walid Banu Amr bin Auf ke us aadmi se hi un ka nikah karne par musar the, hatta ki yeh mamla Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki bargah mein pesh hua. Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne yeh faisla farmaya ki khansa ko apne mamle ka zyada ikhtiyar hai lihaza Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un ki khawahish ke mutabiq Banu Amr bin Auf ke us aadmi ke nikah se nikal kar Hazrat Abu Lubabah se un ka nikah kar dia aur un ke yahan Saib bin Abu Lubabah paida huye.
قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي: يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ ، قَالَ: كَانَتْ خُنَاسُ بِنْتُ خِذَامٍ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ، تَأَيَّمَتْ مِنْهُ، فَزَوَّجَهَا أَبُوهَا رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي عَوْفٍ، وَحَطَّتْ هِيَ إِلَى أَبِي لُبَابَةَ، فَأَبَى أَبُوهَا إِلَّا أَنْ يُلْزِمَهَا الْعَوْفِيَّ، وَأَبَتْ هِيَ، حَتَّى ارْتَفَعَ شَأْنُهُمَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " هِيَ أَوْلَى بِأَمْرِهَا" , فَأَلْحِقْهَا بِهَوَاهَا، فَتَزَوَّجَتْ أَبَا لُبَابَةَ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ أَبَا السَّائِبِ.
