The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2728
Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would send out an army, he would advise them: "Proceed in the name of Allah, fight in the way of Allah those who disbelieve in Him. Do not break your promises, do not be treacherous with the spoils of war, do not mutilate the dead, do not kill children or religious recluses."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ جب اپنے کسی لشکر کو روانہ کرتے تو فرماتے کہ ”اللہ کا نام لے کر روانہ ہو جاؤ، اللہ کے ساتھ کفر کرنے والوں سے جہاد کرو، وعدہ خلافی مت کرو، مال غنیمت میں خیانت نہ کرو، لاشوں کا مثلہ نہ کرو، بچوں اور مذہبی رہنماؤں کو قتل مت کرو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab apne kisi lashkar ko rawana karte to farmate ke ”Allah ka naam lekar rawana ho jao, Allah ke sath kufr karne walon se jihad karo, waada khilafi mat karo, maal e ghanimat mein khiyanat na karo, lashon ka mutla na karo, bachon aur mazhabi rahnumaon ko qatl mat karo“.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا بَعَثَ جُيُوشَهُ، قَالَ:" اخْرُجُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ، لَا تَغْدِرُوا، وَلَا تَغُلُّوا، وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا، وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا الْوِلْدَانَ، وَلَا أَصْحَابَ الصَّوَامِعِ".
