The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2746
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited Qunut Nazilah in the Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Fajr prayers for an entire month. After every prayer, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would raise his head from the bowing position of the second Rak'ah, and after saying "Sami' Allahu Liman Hamidah", he would supplicate against Banu Salim, a tribe comprising of Ri'l, Dhakwan and 'Usayyah, as well as those who gave them refuge. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had sent his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to these tribes with the invitation to Islam, but they martyred them.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے پورا مہینہ تسلسل کے ساتھ ظہر، عصر، مغرب، عشا اور فجر کی نماز میں قنوت نازلہ پڑھی ہے، آپ ﷺ ہر نماز کے اختتام پر دوسری رکعت کے رکوع سے سر اٹھانے اور «سَمِعَ اللّٰهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ» کہنے کے بعد بنو سلیم کے ایک قبیلے، رعل، ذکوان، عصیہ اور انہیں پناہ دینے والوں پر بددعا فرماتے تھے، نبی ﷺ نے ان قبائل کی طرف اپنے صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم کو دعوت اسلام کے لئے بھیجا تھا لیکن ان لوگوں نے انہیں شہید کر دیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne poora maheena tasalsul ke sath Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha aur Fajr ki namaz mein Qunoot Nazilah parhi hai, Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) har namaz ke ikhtitam par dusri rakat ke ruku se sar uthane aur "Sami Allahu Liman Hamidah" kehne ke baad Banu Saleem ke ek qabila, Raal, Zakwan, Assiya aur inhen panah dene walon par baddua farmate the, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne in qabail ki taraf apne sahaba (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko dawat Islam ke liye bhi bheja tha lekin in logon ne unhen shaheed kar diya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، وَعَفَّانُ , قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ:" قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهْرًا مُتَتَابِعًا فِي الظُّهْرِ، وَالْعَصْرِ، وَالْمَغْرِبِ، وَالْعِشَاءِ، وَالصُّبْحِ، فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ، إِذَا قَالَ: سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ الْأَخِيرَةِ، يَدْعُو عَلَيْهِمْ، عَلَى حَيٍّ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَلَى رِعْلٍ وَذَكْوَانَ وَعُصَيَّةَ، وَيُؤَمِّنُ مَنْ خَلْفَهُ، أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِمْ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، فَقَتَلُوهُمْ" , قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: قَالَ: وَقَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ: هَذَا كَانَ مِفْتَاحَ الْقُنُوتِ.
